So a few weeks ago I was in a Hell CS run and a few of us (the ones without teleport) are running behind cleaning up the leftovers over where Infector spawns. Next thing you know "So-n-So is slain by De Seis" pops up, and of course is then followed by countless "wtf's" and "LOL's".

Now I can honestly say I didn't throw up a "LoL" on screen, but you can best believe I was LoL'ing on my couch, thinking to myself "if you're going to run near the front of the pack, don't linger around where the bosses are going to spawn". I mean I'm no pro at the game, but this is something I have learned to do, or so I thought. Anyways after my chuckle, I poured a red potion out in remembrance and went about my business.

Now a few days ago I finally made it to lvl 83 (highest character ever). So once again I'm doing Hell CS runs and as always I'm running way behind most of the group. Now I could have sworn I saw somebody teleport up near the De Seis seal and then back down to the rest of the group. So I'm ASSUMING they hit the seal and De Seis and his boys are out. When I rejoin the group I see a bunch of OK and start CE'ing all over the place. As the OK fall, I start inching up forward (by myself I might add, that there should have told me something was up). Next thing I know I see the little fairy lights swirl around me, BAM "RathiSpirit was slain by De Seis" . And then of course my screen filled with numerous "LoL's".

Ah well I thought I'd come out of lurking today and share.

Take care all.

very ouch, I'm getting back to D2 have not played it in over 2 years. Gonna focus on hardcore myself, so I'll be posting like this when my characters die at some point.

One thing you have to remember, and something I have had nasty experience with, is that some people like to hit the seal when you are still clearing things. These idiots have almost killed me off several times. Perhaps sometimes it is deliberate, but it can be particularly nasty in Hell against the De Seis Crew (with fanat) and the doom lord pack when they have conviction.

Those venom lords dont NEED conviction to be nasty, you had better have some maxed fire resist+absorb to be at all safe against them, conviction or no conviction.

You know with the large number of CS runs I have done and knowing damn good and well were not to be it still happens from time to time, but it usually has to do wiht idiots that just dont give a damn about outer people.

Sorc probably teled up to seal, found it loaded and retreated to confront the enemies from range and then you showed up justin time for the seal pop.

For those that dont know, 1.10 CS runs in Classic makes Baal runs look like NM Blood runs in 1.09 in risk! There are only out to kill (4) things and pop 5 seals and they run past everything else. Sorcs and hamerdins run around like lunitics and Barbs, Necro and Zons try and keep up and play dodge monster tryin not to be in the freaking spawn spots. Hell it was safer in 1.09 being a WW BArb and killing like mad!

You don't need strangers around to get into nasty situations. I had a close shave with DeSeis a few days ago when playing with friends. Was even lv 91 and Oak was up. We thought we did everything right, checked the screen and msged us when to pop the seals. WHAM, the whole ES/Fana pack on top of me.

But I escaped..in that way my story has a happy end...sorry for you :(

I've found when doing CS runs with my level 87 Summoner, it's best for me to keep my stick o' teleport on switch instead of the 2nd trangs shield/gull, just for doing De Seis. I've had too many close calls and found out pretty early on De Seis' group is easier to handle if I tele across and come up behind him. Usually for a summoner, few monsters present any real problems, but De Seis got 3/4 of my minions, merc and golem in just about one hit once with IM, and next thing I knew, he and my summoner were standing nose to nose. Scary bit that. Also, one word for De Seis....altoids!

Frankly De Seis is a shadow of his former self! His minions are a bit ruffer since they are melle with Fanta now, but the use to be all oblivs and usually fast as hell. I soloed that seal so many times in 1.09 with my Barb that i am so use to them. It was a heart pumping things to take those guys on with WW listening to all the curses going off.

One of the biggest errors I see Necros making is they walk to fasst. They walk straight to contact and get themselves into trouble. If you walk a little, pause and repeat that your skelleis and summons will keep up with you. A Nice portal to town to collect your buddies is always another handy option, or of course teleport works to.
