Hi All,
I found one of these things the other day and it looks interesting ...

30-76 Damage
+488 Poison Damage Over 10 Seconds
Slows Target by 50%
+50 Defense
+15-45 Damage
30% Faster Attack Speed
+4 To Poison Nova (Necro Only)
+4 To Poison Explosion (Necro Only)
+5 To Poison Dagger (Necro Only)

I'm toying with the idea of using this for a toxic necro. The sort of idea I have in mind is to max poison dagger, poison explosion and poison nova, with 'quite a few' in lower resistance, to break poison immunes.

Any spare point will most likely end up in a Gumby.

If this a viable build ? Anyone tried this already ? If so, how was it ?

Also, what sort of equipment (apart from P&B skillers and a good blocking shield) would be recommended ?

Sorry about the amount of questions - I've never tried one of these sort of builds before.

thanx in advance

DelBoy

The usual poison necro setup with a 3-piece-trangs (shield, gloves and any one of the other items) helps with pdagger as well: -25% enemy poison resist, +25% poison damage, +2 p&b.

You can find some info on Poisonmancers in the PvP PoisonMancer Guide (http://www.rpgforums.net/showthread.php?t=141168&page=1) and in the The 1.10 Daggermancer Guide (http://www.rpgforums.net/showthread.php?t=252202).

For more info check the [ Essential Necromancer Information ] (http://www.rpgforums.net/showthread.php?t=232935) thread.

This is the weapon my venomancer is using right now. I based him on the the guides MM listed. This thread (http://www.rpgforums.net/showthread.php?t=254664) lists my equipment and skill points. Since I'm untweaked the gear is not perfect, but it works.

Up through nightmare was a cakewalk. The biggest problem in Hell has been poison immune ranged attackers. That's why I use a handful of summons to keep me company. Dim vision is also a useful curse to avoid engaging immune targets. The build is definitely viable, although a bit slow going at times.

Blackbog's is prolly the IDEAL dagger for a pdagger necro. I even think it can be upped dealing increased physical damage.

Nice find.

For a Daggermancer focused on the poison aspect of the build it is indeed a fantastic weapon. If you like the more physical route, then there are better choices out there.

Pdagger would of course be the primary attack but a few nova's would work well with blackbog's.

Thanks for the input. I've started out with my new necromancer, called 'Poisonous Dwarf'. So far I've just rescued Cain and apart from the waiting until level 6 to get my first poison dagger, it's going quite well.
