whats so good about windforce?

I was looking through arreat summit and comparing bows and xbows for my lvl 74 hybrid zon. I was looking at the stats of wf and thinking what was so great about it, I bet an upped buriza is better. So i calculated the damge..i have a 187% ED buriza which has 94-342 damage (avg. 218). If i upgraded it to colossus xbow is would be 91-446 damage (avg. 268). A wf at my lvl would have 35-472 damage (avg. 253). So damage alone the buriza is better plus i think the stats on the buriza are much better then the wf (cold, pierce, 35 dex, 80 IAS). Im not sure if im being a noob and missing something very obvious cause im sure someone would have figured this out by now. But am i right? oh, and btw, how much does a wf on uswest ladder go for?...cause then it might not justify the cost of paying an lum pul for the upgrade. thanks!

well the thing you're missing is that a WF shoots it's arrows twice as fast as buriza... i'm level 84 and my WF has passed my buriza in dmg AND is faster...
besides that...knockback :) crowdcontrol with strafe :D

Xbow base speed is MUCH slower... so the 80IAS doesn't really help...

stanima heal helps too consider that most zons are dex builds.

wf has + stats as well and 08 has a massive 30 or 35+ dex (forget which it is)

buriza, upped or not isn't a good endgame weapon, its too slow. bows are much better.

you can even tell through field comparison that buriza is way slower than the wf, plus I think that when you upgrade the buriza the bas is slower than the nonupgraded version. I think that a wf on ladder sells for like a gul or maybe an um if the guy is desperate : / one more thing, the .08 has +35 dex ;p

With good ias equipment, a Windyzon can reach dizzying damage per second. However, the upgraded Buriza is just as fast as the normal version, and it's a nice endgame weapon, especially if you plan on mf'ing. As a mf'er, you won't want to stock up on ias gear as you want a higher mf%. The Buriza is a powerful bow and only needs 15% ias to reach the next breakpoint (Stealskull and Goldwrap, for instance). While the Windforce will still beat it in raw physical damage per second, the upgraded Buriza has a bunch of yummy mods: big elemental damage, freeze, dex and 100% pierce (will save you a handful of skillpoints and let you use something else than Razortail), and it's much easier to find than the Windforce. Oh, yeah, and .08 windforces are dupes. If you have both, use the Windforce. If you don't have that, enjoy the great Buriza.

Also take into consideration survivability. Wf has kb that keeps monsters away from you and ml that will let you spam high mana skills like multi. This frees up maybe a ml ring as well as kb gloves.

Also like to add that not all .08 wfs are dupes. I have like 10 mf'ed from back in .08 so thats some proof.
