Hola!

I'm using a lvl 87 WW IK barb, and i just got 2 baba's on switch, but I find that when I'm running the pits its not viable to use them to switch right before stuff is dead because theres too many guys to keep track of, and I can't use them to do any damage aside from the killing blow. So I'm wondering what you guys would suggest to do, is it just best to use them for finishing off lone Super Uniques and Boss's and that sorta deal?

Also I was wondering what the deal is with MF on mercs? When my merc kills something and has mf, does his mf combine with mine or does his mf count run seperatly from mine?

Thanks in advance guys!

merc mf= mercs mf + your own mf

ali baba's... well they just suck as a weapon, better to get some charms socket IK helm armor with Ptopaz's and when u killed a group of monster switch to duel ali and use find item to "hork" the bodies.

I prefer to use dual echoing weapons on switch for FI as it has a good bonus to chance for item drops when only putting 1 in FI. What good is an extra 150 mf if your chance for item drops is half that of using 2 echoing weapons?

Ali babas are definitely relegated to boss-killing only.

Ah, I dunno. I use dual ali babas for horking on my MF barb; he has +6-7 skills depending on what armor I'm packing, so my find item sits at 7-8 as it is. Nothing like using FI on a corpse with 858% mf :)

I always run meph with my sorc , but i never use any mf on my merc since it doesn't matter because he'll jsut use my mf number anyway.

personally i prefer playing barbs, but sorcs are just that much faster at mfing, the tele advantage is powerful... and around 150% mf doesn't make that much difference in drops.. in fact i'll get more loots from a sorc simply from the sheer number of runs i do...

Which begs the question: So how do you guys run bosses quickly with a barb? With enigma perhaps, but i can't afford one of those, and if i do, it's gonna go on a pvp barb.

I don't run bosses usually, I generally run the pits, as all you have to do is follow the road from the OC to get there. When I do run bosses, it's usually with enigma or my Meteorb sorc.

Nod, my Merc is geared to kill with a couple items that have +MF on him because when merc kill its his mf + my own, then I just sit back and use dual alis to hork, I never do boss runs generally a waste of time but i like to do everything between them for drops.

Merc MF = 80, Stealskull w/ Ptopaz 56% MF.
Gives him IAS/FHR Dual Leech and So-so Defense in a helm.
For armor he wears Duriels Shell with Ptopaz and Reapers Toll.
Then my gear which is 248 (80 w/o ali's) I hork he kills. We do well :) He gets about 12k def and 4.6khp w/ Bo and max res in hell (75) So theres nothing he can't handle and I usually keep a 2hander handy for those "uh-oh" situations.
usually if theres more then 1 PI or just to much for my merc to handle, because they do have limits.

Heres a helpful and rather easy MF guide you can do with a barb that most casters can't really handle ;)

My runs start off something like this.
Private games I do: Andy,Blood RAven (dunno if shes worth doing), Meph, Duriel, Pits, Flayer Jungle, Ancient Tunnels, Travincal,Pindleskin, Ancient Way, Countess,Eldritch, Shenk, Bloody Hills and Worldstone (all but minions and baal)

Usually first 2 floors starting from Area you kill Ancients in, floor 3 and throne generally have oblivions knights and if your not careful Iron maiden can munch at your merc and you if you happen to be mid WW or Frenzy ect..

I find my mf runs to be flawless, although MF XX or XXX% is generally good I seem to like less mf and more to kill then lots of mf and 1 target to kill if that makes sense.
Hope this helps :D

I forgot to add a good place to do MFing (everything but Act bosses anyway) is in PVP games or trade games anything that might attract multiple players.
In games like those you might limit yourself however to travical and pits and flayer due to the fact places like Fangskin and Duriel or countess could prove very hazardous to your health. Not to mention attacting Pk's if your in a dueling game upon death.
