View Full Version : One quick question about Conviction aura

Is there any point in having it above lvl 25 (apart from lower monster deff)?
I know the max res on a monster is 150, so question is really if a monster can have a negative resistence (like a player can), or if they are capped at 0?

The - resistance effect of Conviction stops at slvl 25, so no, there is no point in pushing it any higher. It's a good idea to figure out your end-game + skills before building a Conviction pally.

Thats what im doing now.
but if the effect of conviction is capped within the aura, that doesn't really answer the other part of my question? Can a monster have a negative resistence?
Like if you combine you aura with rainbow facet, or a necro with lower res. curse?

I have read somewhere here that when you fight nm or hell andy that she normally spawns with a -40 fire res-- so I do think this is possible if the poster was right. I'll poke around and see if I can find the original post for you, though it was on an unrelated topic.

Sorry, missed that part. I believe the cap is -150% for monster resistances. So if a creature has zero resistances across the board and you hit them with a slvl 25 Conviction aura, that's as good as it's going to get. This is rarely the case though, as most monsters will have varying + resistances (especially in higher difficulty levels). So it is not a waste to use items that further lower resistances, even with a maxed Conviction.
Hope that helps!

The lower cap for resistances is -100 for both players and monsters.

in pvp foher vs foher the higher lvl conviction cancals out the others.
like if pala1 has lvl 27 conviction and pala2 has lvl 28 conviction then pala2 conviction will cancal out pala1 conviction making pala1 conviction have no effect but because pala2 conviction is a higher lvl that will still take effect by lowering 150res to pala1
