Hey guys, i had a rather unfortunate experience last night when my so called 'friend' stole my botd zerker. Now this really annoyed me, but what annoyed me even more was that when something like this happens there is almost nothing you can do. I tracked down my friend in a game (She was trying to trade it away reallllll quick :grrr: ) and kept asking her why she did it. She ignored me and by some luck i ran into her clan leader. I thought brilliant, i'll be able to tell him what happened. Turns out that she invented a story whereby her other 'friend' gave it to her and i was just trying to scam a botd out of her. The clan leader said he would get my cd-key and account banned if i didn't go away. Now, i was just wondering if there is anyone you can msg about stuff like this. Cause i am not happy at all

Well first of all we learn from our own mistakes and this my friend was a valuable expereinece for you and you in the future. When i started playing in .08 i had lots of friends but to cut the story short, i only transfer with people that i know personally which is 1 trustworthy friend who i know in person. For diablo its like this...if you drop something on ground its not yours anymore!

Yes i can understand that stealing is going to happen and i realise there is very little chance of my botd coming back. However what really annoys me is that my CD-Key and Account are threated by lies. Now there has to be something you can do about that.

Your cdkey and acct aren't in any danger. People seem to think that saying they can get you banned or they know someone from bliz is scarry. They are all liars.

Sorry to hear about this mate, sadly there is nothing that can be done - all you can do is learn from this. I play SP because of this, and I don't have to worry about this sort of ****e happening with my gear.

It's kinda sad that a .d2i file is worth more than a friendship. S'pose that's what happens when dorks sleep with computers.

Yeah, it really makes me wonder how people can actually do something like this without feeling regret. What makes it worse is that i once gave this person a HOTO as a gift, ungrateful.

Well I was scammed out of my whole account in 1.09. My roommate (actually my roommate, not me) downloaded a trojan that he thought was maphack. For some reason his account didn't get stolen but mine did... mine was also worth 10 X more. Then the guy got my AIM name I guess through the trojan too, and started talking **** to me, making fun of me cause he stole my account (I'm sure it was the best account he ever stole too).

To this day he's still on my AIM friends list, one of these days he's gonna slip up and put some personal information on his profile... I'll get him.

I also got scammed out of 8 Vex's a couple months ago by someone impersonating a trade moderator from a trading board I use.

Anyway, theres tons of scammers on BNet, don't trust ANYONE, even nice "girls" who have been your friends for months.

One obvious giveaway is if they talk like "omfg noob! haxor!lmao ". Unless you know em in real life, theres a good chance they would try to steal from you.

Ex- Two people who were on my f list for a few months always talked like that and then one day they decided it was ok to join a dueling game I was in and tg/nk/bm me. Really baffled me why anyone would do that to someone they "know". Only good thing about that is that I got rid of the trash on my F list.

One thing that I know can work is to try to feel out what kind of person you are doing games with. If you feel that they are some what not all there. Get rid of them. If I was you honestly as of right now you could do 2 things about this..

1. Hunt her down and pk her as much as you can. Start a clan war if you want to.

2. Forget about it. Well learn about it and try to not let it happen ever again.

What clan was it by the way? I might beable to help. Because I know some people in high places. Also was this done on what realm?

On the bright side, you only lost a normal botd zerker  (Well, from what your post states anyway). Just forget about it, there's nothing you can do.

post their acct name on board everytime u play. telling people to msg that acct cuz they are quitting. then the mfer will be drowned with messages.

Bah, that happens to me everytime I remove someone off my f list for being an ahole.

Currently I have 1 person telling people to msg me for free items and another one put a spam bot on me. Guess I was correct in judging them.

/dnd and /away works wonders though.

Well with enuff people backing you. You could actly really piss off the clan its self. You could flood theyre channels and call them names till you are blue in the face. It could or could not get your botd back but you will still have the satafaction of knowing that the chick will think twice before messing with you again.

Being a victum of a scam myself as well.

Its not worth sinking to thier level most of the kids are nothing more then little children with nothing better to do with there lives, hell if you kill someone ina dueling game and because you keep winning they threaten to hack your pc or acct. Total Garbage, its not worth sinking to that level spamming spam bots or anything like.
I've come to realise, you get what you pay for. This is a free game online, so we're getting our monies worth nothing more, because we're online people well most people think they can do whatever they want without reason or question.

Its sad, but its true.

Best I can suggest is what Hal said to me in my post/rant.
"Better things will happen"
I believe that after loosing my potential ebotd cb, I've gained levi 48/24 17xx def and a 268 Azurewrath. By no means that will ever replace what I lost but it certainly made me feel a lot better, not to mention my friends/clan is lookin out for me now, they knew my style of play and everything. so they have been a big help all I can say is chin up and move on it's only pixels, and doing otherwise is really just playing there game.
We have to draw the line somewhere.

Another friend lost a character's worth of items because of a hack, someone snuck on there mule account with there high level characters and lost items,
best you can do is report the account name and character name explain to them in detail what happened. Blizzard may or may do something about that.
This seems to be more common then what it was like in 09 or even 08 iirc.

I like to yell at Cain. He can identify items, why can't he identify scammers? And since he likes to talk so much, what's wrong with giving a warning?

These things always happen.

One night I was cheated twice in trading for Annihilus. I lost one Highlord's Wrath and 3 x 40ed/15ias. The first time is around the bar in Act2, the second time is along the wall in Act 5.

I was so angry those days. And I told myself that I would never, ever trade for Annihilus in the game. I will get it either by myself, or buy it from ebay.

Damn those scams.
