View Full Version : Sewers level 2, worth it?

I reached the Sewers level 2, underneath the Kurast Bazaar, and decided, since I know it's a level 85 area and had an extremely short distance to get there on my map, to run it for a while, to see what I get. I had exactly 100% extra magic find at the time (40% Chance Guards, 21% Gheed's Fortune, 27% Nagelring, a small charm with 7% and a small charm with 5%). I did about ten runs before I decided to change to magic find gear, since I noticed I got quite a few uniques, and the odd rune (about six runes and three uniques in about ten runs).
I guessed I would find on average at least one unique every run after changing to magic find gear totalling 523% extra magic find (the above items plus Gull 100%, Rhyme 25%, Goldwrap 30%, 3topaz helm 72%, Skullder's Ire 102% at level 82, ring 25%, amulet 35%, greaves 34%). The result was desastrous in terms of uniques/sets: nada. In 15-20 runs not a single one, at some point I exchanged Skullder's Ire for Wealth, which did have the result of gaining more money. The total number of runes in this time also dropped to about three, compared tot he six in the first few runs.

So now my question: was I extremely lucky in the first runs, extremely unlucky in the "magic find" runs, something in between, or is 100% the exact right amount of magic find in the area (it does feel like that, even though I know that should not be the case, the same for less magic find if Mf>5000 or something)???

What can one expect on average from all the chests in that area? Everything was done at players8.

I don't think we've seen any statistic data concerning chest runs there. Soon RTB, Shade or Thrugg will pop up linking to past threads on how chests work today. IIRC, they drop lvl 85 items, so no TC 87 from them.

What about a 100 Sewer lvl2 chest runs thread?

A hundred is not a lot.
The fact that it is a level 85 area doesn't mean a lot, because there are hardly any monster there and chests still can't drop all the items.
Only run it for jewels gems runes and stuff, not for items. In that sense it is comparable to the cow level I think in amount of items you get, but its a bit more boring.
Some people got nice runes from there, but I never got above Thul in about 200 runs.

I regularly run Sewers lvl 2 with a barb with 450% mf. The drops are alright, but not great. I just do it for gold, by selling stuff.

Regarding mf amount, my strafezon with exactly 100% mf gets better drops than the barb. I know the numbers don't lie, but sometimes I think 100% is a magic number. Perhaps try a more thorough test and post the results here.

I think that the Sewers Level ONE is VERY good for certain things. It seems to me that Undead Stygan dolls are very good droppers. You get tons of runes from them and can get a lot of high level items. Also the chances of more dropping are increased due to how much of a swarm attacks you. The only drawback is they're highly dangerous. Especially if you're a Sorceress or something. (A mistimed Fireball can earn you an explosive death).

Running sewers in act3 is very good if you wan't to find runes. Sure you can get some nice items aswell. But I always put on my best killing gear with my IK barb switch to players8 and hit every chest I can see.

The best so far is a Sur rune a some Pul runes and one Mal.

I agree with Tweety that a hundred runs is not much, maybe 1000 and you will get some results. Don't know how many I have done but a guess would be about 1000 runs.

Keep on doing them and shiny nice runes will drop for you

Hmm... maybe the countess has some serious competition?
