Barbarian Question :)

Hiho there. :)
I started a Barbarien now and want to go for Frency. I will equip him with 2 Phaserswords so he will be really fast.. But I like the Immortal King Set, which uses a huge club which is a 2-hand weapon. What skill should I boost so I can secondary smash my enemies with the hammer? It's a lot of style-bonus and I like the glowing effect.. so I would like to do both, frency and the hammer.. maybe Beserk would do good?

Try the barb forums
If i'm not mistaken both concentrate and berzerk work with the IK set. As does whirlwind.

But I must say as far as I know people don't mix frenzy with the ik set. Most barbs have 2 echoing weapons on switch for BO, so they generally don't have secondary bashing weapons.

as a person with a barb 'tar I have instant crediblity in helping you! might I also point out the barb in question is wearing partial IK and a pair of phase blades!

anyhoo, a good secondary skill could be berserk for crushing PI dudes, in the past I have left it at a single point and had IK maul on switch for mace frenzy barbs buuuuut, you're a sword barb so there are conflicting masteries to take into account

I also highly recommend checking out the barb forums, I hear there's a stickied frenzy guide that might help some, although the author kind of skimped on equipment details...

but... perhaps scourges instead of phaseblades? I love PB, but if you want the duality with IK maul, you should only have one mastery

Because of the lack of a shield, a concentrate barb build would work best.

until now, I'm not a Sword Barb yet, but I read that Swords are a "must" for a Frency Barbarian.. so I though that's bad as I'm going for Frency, and already have the IK set which I like pretty much.

I'm sure axes would work just as well as swords (like 2 5 socket rune masters with ed/max/ias jewels).

that is certainly not true, the vast majority of guides do not contain "must" equipment, it is far too stifling and anyone who made such a claim is obviously inexperienced with other weapon types, there are plenty maces to consider

I have a frenzy babr who is lvl 87 now, and he uses 2 axes. I find no need for the IK Maul (even though i have it). I keep 2 echoing weapons on my switch and have no problem doing hell baal runs by myslef. If you are going to frenzy you mike think axes because you get IAS bonuses for using them. If you are in game at any time whisper me *jdwahooo and I will show you what I have done.

Ok thank you for the reply.. I am from Germany so I'm in european Battle.net :) - the other thing is, I just thought the IK Maul is really cool so I was asking myself if there is a way of skilling a frency barb who is also good with the single two-handed IK Maul because I like "big weapons".

If i remember correctly frenzy requires the use of two weapons. If you want to use the IK maul then whirlwind is probably the best way to go.

yes...... and? it's on weapon switch for berserking, you can't frenzy with it ever, no chance, if it's the only weapon you ever plan on using, you can't, not if you're a frenzier, now I'm a bit lost as to what it is you're trying to do

..trying to find a seconde skill, which works good with the 2-handed maul.. besides frency, as I'm going for frency.. so I can switch to the maul from time to time.. as to be read from the thread, I guess beserk would be best.. helps me ,k, thx
