Upgrading Bartucs

Hey everyone, just a quick question...

Do you guys think it is worth upgrading Bartuc's? It looks like I would need a lot more dex than what I currently have and I am not sure if the points are better off spent in Str and Vitality.

BTW I am currently using a MA assassin..

MA as in plain Tigerstrike? i suppose upping Bartuc's won't hurt and the points you invest in dex also up your damage. Although points in str might improve the damage done by your finish move a bit more dunno if this is Dragon tail only.

It is a tiger strike, Dragon tale build so far, probably add phoenix strike at some point

I wouldnt since the majority of ur damage is gonna come from boot damage and slvl. Personally i would save the stats for vitality since u are gonna be in the masses.

Well damage wise it won't give you much more of an edge.

Normal Bartucs 200%: 88 - 155 avg 121,5
Upped Bartucs 200%: 91 - 209 avg 150

Kinda, but Bartucs kinda lacks in real desirable combat mods like OW, CB, DS, etc. It has some good leech, but that's about it. Give me a Fury anyday! :thumbsup:

depends on what kinda assassin u are tryin to make... and for what.... furys only goo dmod is ow, and thats usefull in pvp.i prefer bartucs.

Well, you missed my point. The only reason to upgrade Bartuc's is to add more damage. There are plenty of other claws that can do more base damage and have much better combat mods than Bartuc's.

30 & faster hit recovery
20 strenght
20 dexterity
9% life leech
erm what other mods u needed?

Well, generally when you focus a character around melee/combat damage, you generally want things like:

Open Wounds
Crushing Blow
Deadly Strike
-% Target Def
Ignore Targets Defense

etc.

Bartuc's has a lot of great mods, don't get me wrong, but they aren't specifically suited for a melee character the best, that's all I'm saying. If you want to use a claw for melee, I would pick another.

hehehe i know the drill. i think we are talking bout claws here, otherwise best bet would be stormlash or fleshripper. fury is good, chaos is good, but bartucs is up there witht those big guys as well, and less costly. ww route definetely i say chaos and fury. but other routes such as kicks and all bartucs does have a role to play. i used to have 2x perfect etheral bartucs iwth zod lost them whilst i was muling :( i wouldnt mind having an upped perfect ethreal bartucs again, i probably would make a tiger strike dragon claw just for those bartucs. but for a kicker whether its ethral or damage on weapon is no use.

You've just illustrated my point beautifully. Kickers love bartuc's because the ED on them doesn't matter, but the skills, str, dex, and fhr does! :)
