View Full Version : What Merc should I use for a pure Hammerdin

Today I'm venturing out to build a pure Hammerdin for MF'ing. This is a big deal for me for I have never played anything but a Met/Orb Sorc. So with that said, what is the best merc to use? Any feedback is welcome. Thanks in advance :scratch:

I use a defiance one to help with my defense. Not sure if that's the best choice, but works OK for me.

I think a lot of people use act 2 freeze merc, that is what I use.
but I am only at level 58 right now..merc dies lots more than me so
he is only level 39.
Just wish redemption healed merc. WHY NOT ?????

I guess you slow them down so you can hit more with
hammers.
maybe an expert will help with this.

I use a barb merc... he tanks good and w bash he can knockback crowds fairly easy. plus its a good place to store reg botd Cbs that u can never sell and buy for a song.:-)

I got an eth skulder, vamp gaze, and reg botd cb. about the only time he really gets smoked is IM. so I just dont tke him in chaos sanct or on baal runs

i never actually thought of using a barb merc... botd hrm hehehe mayb i need to be richer first lol

but i prefer act2 defiance merc just so i can stand there and cast hammers all day and not die .. due to huge defence holyshield bonus + defiance = alot of defence

I would use a defiance merc with doom, or a holy freeze merc.

I use hf merc. He slows em down and I mow them down. He's setup for mf right now. Tals armor, ptopez shako, and 3 socket tomb reaver (2X amn, eld). He does kill quite well though. I had him take care of the wailing beasts for me.

act 5 barb..they knock those monsters too close to you into the path of your hammers, thus killing them...

also a solution to the IM problem is to take your merc's weapon off before going into Chaos Sanctuary so they dont hurt themselves

always works for me
