Well I've done a forum search, and have yet to find anything. I must say I'm surprised given that I've seen this on several occassions.

A mate has the IK set on his concentration Barb., and has the 'I'm not wearing armour' look,,, even though he has the set glow and stats. Is any one able to shed some light on this for him (and me) please?

I'm sorry if this is an old question or has been answered before. I went back a few pages, used a search and couldn't find any FAQ, so here I am :)

Thanks in advance.

It happens when your base str is too low for the items. I.E. hes using charms or something to get his str high enough to wear ik's.

Maybe there should be a sticky that says: "Why Does your Gear Not Show Up". This question comes up like everyday. (I'm not saying theres anything wrong with asking, but just that this is a VERY common question)

PS: This is not an IK set glitch.

Thanks Koop. I'll pass that on.

And NBA, I never said it was a glitch. I asked whether it was or not.
And I assume it's in the FAQ. I just happened to ask when it was down ;)

I'll add it to the FAQ, NBA. Working on that heavily today, finally got done with my ethics module.

Just to clarify, it's only when charms are used to gain the required stats (str or dex). for instance, lets say your armor requires 180 strength to equipt, and your base strength is 175. If you use a +5 strength charm to equipt your armor others will see you as being naked. However, if you use lets say, a pair of gloves that give +5 strength then they will be able to see your gear fine.

I'll try to explain why this is (to the best of my knowledge). When you join a game some information about your character is sent to the others in the game so their game knows how to display your character to them. This information includes everything your character is wearing, but not the contents of his inventory or stash. so if charms are being used to gain the minimum requirements, then as far as other players games are concerned you don't meet the requirements to wear that armor. the information about the contents of your inventory not being sent is also why maphack users can see the equiptment you're wearing but not what's in your inventory.

Hope that covers it.. :)
