Hey, I've got a SCL Zerk Barb I'm palying with in swords, if I'm going 1h/shield, what's bgetter, headstriker or grandfather? My other gear is as follows:

Helm: Arreats
Armour: Upped Duriel's Shell
Shield: Stormshield
Gloves/Boots: IK
Belt: Verdungos
Jewelry: Angelic

Yes, I can't afford any decent runewords :)

unless you were to upgrade the headstriker I would say it's no contest that gf is a better weapon. It has better mods and a much higher dmg (offset by the deadly strike on headstriker it's only a slightly higher dmg).

if you upgrade the headstriker then it is in the same league as a gf.

Yah, that's what I meant, an upped Headstriker

Bump and add: If I want to make Kingslayer for uber D killing, whats the best sword to put it into for a zerk build, there's NO WW in the build, so don't worry about bp's

Breakpoints are more important for non-whirl builds, they're just calculated differently. If you're determined to go swords, I'd do a balrog blade before any of the others, since it has a nice, low base speed and great 1h damage.

Just to give you an idea of swords vs axes, here's a perfect example. Put a kingslayer balrog blade up against a kingslayer berserker axe.

The BA does more average dmg, has a str/dex req that's 47/28 less and has the same range. The only place the BA is lacking is in its dur, which isn't a big deal.

If you add up the str/dex you save to put into vit:
47+28=75 vit*4=300 life*2=600 more life after bo.

You lose about 47%ed from the str dmg bonus from the stat points needed to equip the BB, but that doesn't have quite the returns as the higher on-weapon avg dmg as the BA.

In the end, the BA comes out with more dmg and more life and works better as a str-boosting item to wear other gear since kingslayer has +10 str.
