Calling All Kickers!!!

Ok, love kickers, ive tried a few different variations. I havent seen that many on UsEasy nL but i want to get as many as i can on my friends list. I wanna try and start a kicker tourny with a couple of my kicker buddies. I posted here just to get a few ideas on some rules for this, and if you wanna get in on this reply here or whisp me. Well i hope that i get some replies. Lemme know what you think and if you do want to get in on this. Thanks.

heh, sky, you are so right. I got smashed by longwood last night and earlier today, and you know the funny thing, i met up with longwood and his buddy last night before i even checked this post. Me getting smashed that bad has made me rethink my build and made me remake her, and get some kicker vs kicker gear. i hope to be able to split with longwood sometime, but i dunno if thats going to happen. if anyone else wants to duel just post or whisp im open any time.

My buddy *terps4life is getting better and forcing me to change my build just to keep up with him. He is a great dueler as well, I definitely have to give him credit.

I think we need to promot the kicker and get more of us out there. Its a great build and you can just about kill anything if you use the right strategy. I consider the kicker to be one of the most versatile builds in the game and there is so much variety with gear its unreal. My best advice is play around with what works best for you

I'm sorry to say that I don't share my build. Once I start to get beat by others I might release it but at the time being I do not want carbon copies of me running around. It took me a long time to build this to almost perfection. I would do some things different but I'm not lvling a character back up to 92, I have a life :lol: Kickers are VERY versatile. What works for you might destroy me. Give it a kicker a try, for me it is the most exciting build I own and I have just about everything. I hope you understand and can respect my decision.

I'll admit you got me once, I have no shame in that. But until someone can beat me consistantly (more than a freak accident), I'm gonna keep my build to myself. I'm pretty content with my setup on gear but I'll be open to options. You guys keep challenging me every day, taking note of what I do and wear and there is no doubt that you all will get me one day, its only a matter of time. But until then Don'tBlink :surprise:

Well, I noticed that when I dueled you, you were very passive. I'm sure that is a great defense strategy to maximize your block rate (by not running), but how do you duel against casters? I imagine that you would be forced to run like hell, and sacrifice a lot of your block rate. I'm curious to see how you fair against super fast sorcs or boners.

I can do either or, be offensive or passive. Doesn't matter much. I am very successful against fast sorcs and/or boners. There is a strategy for a boner that I am aware of that can just destroy me but not many people use that. Sorcs I go about 50/50 with the elite ones. If you have one I will duel you, just hit me up tomorrow afternoon sometime.

I by no means have a good sorc. I was just curious.

Don't get me wrong, I'm not discrediting you at all, but it seems like any super fast fire or cold sorc with some good poison resist would just destroy you (or any kicker for that matter).

biggest change would be using nats armor

In response to your post it all depends on what you want to do. If you want to pvp only casters you are going to want to c/c(to block elemental attacks :lol: ), if only melee, you want to go c/s. I personally think you can do both as I have done with my build. I don't want to limit myself to either or and the kicker is very versatile as well as be successful in humliating both :lol:

You possibly just sparked the big debate of "The Kicker". The issue at hand is how many kicks do you want to do? I will not answer this for you, hehe but play around with plain charms and find what works best. Once you find what works then go for the lifer's. I hope that helps a little bit.

Yeah, Right now I have about 6 Shadow Charms, and like 2 MA charms, Im gonna try to get a few more MA and fool around once I level her up. She's only level 32 or so. Thanks!

Well when desiding on what charms to use dont think of the MA gc's as getting more dam. Venom kickers dont rely on the phys dam aspect. If you going to go with MA gc's you should be going for them for the AR aspect. So its basically MA=higher AR more chance to hit or, SD=more venom dam. Its your prefrence on what you want to do.

I could generally 1-hit KO most sorcs, but melee characters were still a problem. In regards to AR with a kickasin and pvp'ing those high defense characters and my experience:

Most barbs, especially public games, I can pretty easily destroy. In private games it is a lot harder due to the increase of skill. Its all about tatics and timing when dueling barbs. I vary with using angelics combo to rare rings. I like using rare rings with uber stats to help increase diversity.

Pallys, well lets just say they are near impossible. I'll break it down

Smiters:I have a friend with an elite smiter and he just destroys my kickasin along with most smiters. I have not found a way to beat them yet nor do I ever think I will.
Hammerdins: This can vary upon skill of the opponent. All of the sudden it appears that hammerdins got smarter and casted a few hammers then moved into their path then casted some more forcing the opponent to move in for the kill and their damage is astronomical.
Zealots: Kickasins typically take them IMO. I have dueled some of the best from palapk and can come out with a few for the most part.

In conclusion, AR is a variable stat, It totally depends on what I'm dueling in which set up I use. When deciding b/t which charms to use, get some plain ones, start out 5/5 and increase/decrease their variability until you find what works best for you and the equipment you are using.

I thought about that, but I think that one downfall my kicker had was that with all my GCs, I was hitting an 8-kick Talon. While th AR and damage was way nice, that has to be total overkill.

I actually have my rebuild planned so that I will only have a level 29 DTalon (about the least that I can get with my dual-claw setup) and therefore, only doing 5 kicks, but with the best AR and damage possible for 5.

Also, I think I'm going to say screw it to the CH rules. I love what they stand for, but no one is ever on. I'm going to use Drac's if I have to. :)

Also, I seem to have terrible luck against some really fast sorcs. It's not so much the teleporting that bothers me, it's when they stand still and spam like crazy.

I try Mind Blasting them a few times before DFlighting in, but they always seem to recover in time, and I always seem to bite the Fireball before my Flight lands. I don't see that using WoF would be much help, seeing how they would just Teleport out of it immediately. How do you usually go about tearing them apart?

what i do against spam sorcs (ie ones that stand in their own meteor and just spam fireballs etc) is run... blizzard, orb, fireball, lightning, etc will have a very hard time hitting u if u are always moving... thats why i prefer bos over fade... nobody said u have to kill them as quick as possible... u can frustrate them by dodging, then spamming mindblast non stop for a 4-5 seconds... run and repeat.. sure u not really doing damage, but ur pissing them off, and they will eventually lose it and give chase... this tactic obviously only works if u fighting one person at a time

Good Strategy, My opinion: Those are quality duelers, haha, takes a lot of skill to do that. I just avoid them and don't worry about them unless they really piss me off. Then some of the piss poor ones you can still get in after a meteor has landed and just take min. fire damage from that. The actual meteor itself is what hurts. If you actually time it right you can get in there and kill them then run out of the fire quick. If that isn't working, MB them out of it by locking on them then get in there quick somehow.

the problem is that flight is far too unstable to use on them... if u can see them, they can see u and theres no way u gonna have a second of serenity to use flight... hit, block or lag and there goes ur flight... and u cant really get close enough by running without copping atleast 1-2 fireballs... but u definately right about meteor, i do recall fighting in one and taking minimal damage

thankfully most of those duellers dont believe in max block and fhr

It varies but for the most part YES! Its all about timing though esp against ww barbs who can be nuisance. I'll let you figure out when I do it :uhhuh:

Hi everyone, I've been working on a kicksin of my own for the past few days. I'm an oldschool d2x player but just recently started playing again...and the kicksin is my first char to boot. Soo far she's lvl 47, finishing normal quests and about to go into Nightmare. I really can't decide wether or not to max dflight or leave it at 1 point. Sure, it's glitchy in a pinch, but that's not what I've been using it for. I've been using it to 'chase down' monsters...it just seems to make my life alot easier, and my skillpoints are pretty open at this point. Venom maxes at lvl 50, still trying to decide between fade and bos, soo they're both at 1. Another question, is bladeshield a good idea? From what I understand it does carry venom...soo maybe 1-5 points(duration). Any feedback is appreciated.
