Upgrading

Ive been searching on forums etc how to upgrade unique items

I seen a recipe with : tal + shael + p diamond and armor

But i tested it with a guardian angel but it didnt worked
I also tested it with a vipermagi but it didnt worked either
Both items were socketed
is that the problem or is there an other way to upgrade the vipermagi to a wormhyde for example

(and plz no reactions like : read forum or things like that.. thats doesnt help me and i already tried that)

The problem is that the recipe you listed only upgrades normal to exceptional. Viper and GA are exceptional armor, so you need the Exceptional to Elite recipe. Is it Um + Ko? I don't remember. Check the arreat summit

Exceptional Armor -> Elite Armor [Ladder only]

Lem + Ko + P.Diamond
