Not sure if this person uses diabloii.net but I have a feeling they do.
I think the account name is very close I know its has at least that much in it.
I'm posting it here in the Asn forum because I was trading for MA/Shadow charms and other asn gear.

I will start off by saying I understand it was stupid on my part. That doesn't make it right, however.

I had a lengthy conversation with this person and they were very nice. Took a good 20 minutes to come up with all we were going to trade. After some hang ups and a failed trade we msg'd each other again and figured it out. They were muling their stuff onto one character, while I was getting dressed for a wedding my fiance was dragging me to. I had stuff on 2 diff characters, so I went to mule in the game he was in. Well when I left I couldn't get back in. They set the player limit to 2 and when I left a friend joined. They just searched and finally found my stash.

I would like to get my stuff back or at least the stuff I was going to trade for obviously. Doubt it will happen, but perhaps if they do use diabloii.net they will need to do it to clear their name.

All in all I lost Jah, Zod, and a Pally combat charm.

I never seen that acc here before. Also , I think you prolly will never get your stuff back. You should never trust people , unless you know them personally. I had a person whom I played with for over 2 years , yet all of a sudden he scammed me for almost nothing (the items hardly had any value at all).

Ya I don't expect to get my stuff back. But ya know if they were here at least I'd have somewhat of a chance.

Never seen this type of scam before. Relatively easy to do, its a wonder I never thought to protect myself from it. :hanky:

Yeah, you can't trust everyone. Hell, I've had over 50ish high runes worth of items/charms taken from me during xfers from ppl I knew for a while. It may seem like a lot, but compared to what else I have, its not that much of a biggie. Back that up with mad trading skillz, and its almost negligible. Its still pisses me off though knowing that people will backstab you over virtual items.

On the other hand, I've had the opportunitiy to meet a handful of people who I could give my pass to or drop an entire setup for an expensive build to let em use or for an xfer.

Just find some people that you can mutually trust.

Only people I trust are folks I know from this board (probably because they know if the scammed they would get blasted on this board, and frozen out) and irl friends. Unfortunately none of my irl friends play this anymore so I am stuck with this board, I would suggest u stick to trading here on the trading forums, its generally very secure and I find it easier to trust somebody who has 300 posts on this forum then somebody i chatted with on bnet for 20 minutes.

In retrospect, it sucks u got scammed and I feel for u, its just one of those lessons in life u learn the hard way. Those lessons are generally remembered better then the easy ones. I remember the lessons I made from my knuckleheaded mess ups much better then my smart mess ups :) Good luck, tracking this person down, if he is on the forum I will freeze him out, hopefully other members would too.

Also be on the look out for those people who dont steal your items only because your giving them stuff, and over time they would get more from you then stealing a bunch of stuff at one time. Meeting those people suck, because once you give them enough items then they'll jack you when your muling and they get a double win.
