To start MF..

Hello There,
I have recently been told a skellimancer or Met-Orb sorc was the way to start out lying on the fact to minimal gear requirements.
But, as far as the meak nick and pick of getting this game and starting MF'ing. WIth absolutly nothing, Whats is the ideal character to use? I have maybe 3 chipped gems lol, none of which are topaz.

I would say skellimancer..meteor sorcs would probably reqiure at least some good equip. My skellimancer I just started on ladder is my only ladder guy so i got nothing and ive been using whatever i find, trying to get mf stuff and so far in act 1 nm i have had no trouble in the game, and am finding rares alot(no good unqiues yet :|). I've also found enough stuff to fully equip a merc enough to surivive, so I'm doing good with my mf mancer. Haven't died yet either. And I have like 60 stats not used...I think thats a good idea of how easy it is so far :P

Don't worry about MF if you're not yet in nightmare difficulty. By the time you're there you should have collected some topazes to put in your armors, maybe even some nice uniques with MF (Gull dagger, Ali Baba). But don't get carried away by %MF. It's more important to kill efficiently than to wear tons of MF equipment. Act bosses like Andy or Meph do drop quite well even without any MF.

So, killing power comes first and MF will follow...
