Calculating Effective Life with Energy Shield

I need some help Calculating the effective life, of my Sorc, while she is using Energy Shield. I created a excel sheet for this, but can't figure out what the effective life (or maxaimum damage) she could take.

Any help? A formula would be great.

You will have to factor in a number of things:

- Any % damage taken goes to mana items (I think this is applied after you get hit, but assuming you dont die in 1 hit, you can take more damage this way)

- Mana shield level

- Telekinesis level (8 levels of telekinesis doubles the effectiveness of mana shield(i.e. mana shield with 0 telekinesis takes 200% life damage, mana shield with lvl 8 telekinesis takes 100% life damage, and lvl 16 telekinesis would make mana shield take 50% life damage)

- Your mana (obviously)

- Your life (also obviously)

I think making an exact calculation would be very hard, since it would depend on the way damage taken goes to mana, any damage reduction (Im not sure if this is applied or after mana shield absorption) etc

ok maybe I should explain a little more. In my spread sheet I have My life, mana, TK level, and energy shield level and how they all interact figured out. I also have a equation that tells me how much life and mana will be lost depending on the damage delt. I'm not worried about Res, or DR, I know how to do those.

I just need to figure out what my effective life is, or in other words what is the Highest damage hit I would need to take to kill me in one hit.

If you got that equation, you got everything. Do some changes in your spreadsheet to make that if you get negative mana then substract it to your life directly and that's it.
Then, the only thing you have to do is to try different values of damage until your life goes zero. Use all your different resistances to see how much damage you would resist before you die.

I don't know if this will help you, but I don't know what is the right equation for Energy shield, taking all things into consideration, but I think that with all the things you have in your spreadsheet, it's easy to calculate it.
