As you can see im a natural barb user, but i like wearwolf druids too. I usually go with the ever-popular fury. Just today i heard something about rabies being capable of doing over 40k of damage. Now i was impressed the fb sorc's 25k attacks so this was GREAT news for me considering i love owning people (who doesnt?) I also heard that rabies wont just drop to 1 life, it will kill its target. I use wearwolf druids mostly just because i dont like to summon other things to fight along my side and i usually liked fury and just left rabies in the dust, so i wasnt sure on this. Can someone please confirm this or not?

Yes, rabies can do massive damage and actually kills not just leave your life at 1.
Rabies alone will do the following with slvl 20 Poison Creeper
slvl 20: 4251 - 4585
slvl 25: 7282 - 7672
slvl 30: 11997 - 12444
slvl 35: 18595 - 19100
slvl 40: 26343 - 26905
these numbers are all based on Chippydip's Skill Calc, if there are any discrepancies.

Oh yeah, 20 seconds would be a pain just to run away from em until their hp ran out. Of course not many people have over 5k health, with def yeah sure no prob, but if i found an item or runeword to ignore the targets defence i think it might make things a bit faster than the whole 20 seconds. Ugh i still dont think i'd like the whole "hit and run" tactic. I like to go the fury way and just keep on hittin. Anyone know the max damage for fury? (plz include a stash full of charms)

I also don't like the idea of infecting with rabies and running around "cheaply" until your opponent dies. This is why I have a fury/rabies wolf. Maybe you should try one too.
As for the max damage of fury... that is quite complicated. If you go for the highest damage possible then you probably wouldn't be swinging too fast, and most here can't stand swinging so slow. =P

I have a rabies/fury wolf as well, but I won't stand there and tank against a melee opponent who is obviously stronger. Don't be afraid to run away for a few seconds to let rabies bring a strong opponent down.
People think of it as cowardice, but I'd prefer to call it strategy. I'll stand and fury an opponent who is equal or less when it comes to melee, but I'm not gonna rabies a WW barb and tank his whirls. Personally I think that's just plain stupid. You won't win if you try to tank a WW barb due to his much higher damage, high defense and high life. I've found beating barbs with rabies is somewhat difficult because they usually have good resists and a lot of life. I do best when I run around and let him drain a bit and then come back to fury.

Yes, that's what I do too. I don't mind running away for a few seconds, but continuous running does seem "cheap."
Also, I can't believe I didn't direct him to your guide, electric. =P Forgetful I guess....

:) np.
by the way, I dont believe in duels that are only dependant on run/walk speed. you can take anyone with a poison zon with that way, but no fun in that..
Running away is often the only chance a rabies druid has. Fury simply won't outtank any caster(and some melee) even if they are infected. Yes it is annoying to chase someone like that, but if they got hit, they have already messed up. Besides, its nice to see the almighty casters and ww barbs bite the dust from a melee druid :)
Question for the rabies experts:
How does poison length reduction affect rabies?

On the necro side of this site I wrote a nice little piece compairing the all the poison damage spells. Rabies is in fact a nice skill, one of the few that is highly adjustable by what you equipt.
But if you're really looking for the biggest possible damage (reguardless of time) the Zon has the highest potential, though they'd have to be preaty wieghed down to get there.
Please don't hate me for what I say about poison creeper...but any constructive criticism/corrections is appericated.

You don't necessarily have to tank your opponent. You infect with rabies, then use hit-and-run tactics with fury. Against some opponents you'll need to reinfect rabies.
And I don't think psn length reduction works on rabies. Someone correct me on this if I am wrong.

the last i checked, poison length reduction works on rabies.
but one should make it work.
oh i think i forgot to add that into the guide,- must do with an update
All I know is, that when I have death gloves on I can tank a rabies hit with my windy and keep on going after the duration has ended with half life or so. Without it, and still max res, it just takes a long time to kill me, but usually gets me down to 0 near the end of the duration.
I have noticed that the actual 20secs or so that rabies is in effect isn't changed by deaths gloves, but somehow the actual damage Is.
