hi.. i used to play diabloii 2 years ago.. played for a year.. quit.. played for 2 months.. quit.. and now im back..
Well im just starting up again because my friends are playing and they want me to play.. i was just wondering.. whats a good, powerful build in pvm that could even handle well in hell mode?
Best bet if you aren't super rich(or even if you are) is a windy or a fury werewolf. If your friends can get you some starting gear it will help a lot. Check the guide sticky(top of the forum) for the windy guide and a wolf guide. The windy guide is based on pvp, but you can use it for pvm to great effect. Any of the alternate gear options listed are great for pvm if you can't afford the best gear. PvM fury wolfs are fairly cheap, and although not quite as effective at killing, they tank great.
If you can't find an answer to a question in the guides, then ask here and someone will answer.
Wellcome,
I totaly agree. Winds ans Rabid/Fury WWs are the best. The huntermentalist is also VERY fun but it is dependent on a strong bow/gear at Hell.
Good luck!

Another option for PvM only is volcano or armageddon-grizzly-tank thing.
PvM volcano is of course a volcano user. Max out volcano + its bonuses and you can make way through hell difficulty (tried out to act2 only though :D :D). But its slooow. With your grizzly and preferably a holy freeze act2 merc you can survive, but it takes time to kill 1 monster even.
Armageddon-grizzly-tank thing sounds cool but I've never actually tried it. The point is you put 1 point to Werebear and Shock Wave (<-- or whatever it is :P) and then max out Armageddon and its bonuses. So you run into a group of enemies, keep them stunned with your SW and let your Armageddon wear them out. It SHOULD work. But don't know will it work...
If someone would be willing to test the Armageddon-werebear thing I'd like to hear the result... thx!
Wind Druid gets my vote.
Played him untile end of hell untwinked (in a group of friends) then started mf'ing and trading items for my HF GUL.
Twinked he is a power to beware, but even untwinked pretty safe and the distribution of skillpoints is very straightforward.
Welcome back to the game
