Mac, PC, Mac, PC...

Who really cares. If you use a Mac at home, you probably use a PC at work. Or vice versa. There are so many software choices for PC that simply don't exist for the Mac.

Oh, and more viruses ands hacks, too... But hey, who would want to spend time to make a virus that would affect only 10% of the computers out there?

Speaking of macs, does anyone know how to put a password on one so people other than yourself can't log on? One of my friends has a mac and she's trying to find a way to lock her sister out of it.

In OSX you can set up multiple user accounts so each person is completely cut off from the others. Each account has it's own password and it only takes a few seconds to switch between users. If she's using OS9 it's not as easy and I'm not sure if you can do it at all.

Well, not multiple accounts, just one so that only the person with the password can use the computer. Otherwise it'll just start and then get stuck on the login screen. Or is that not possible on macs?

Like the previous poster said, it's quite easily set up under the control panel if you have OSX. If not, I know there's a bunch of third party programs that will let you lock down your mac available at the usual software download sites, like versiontracker and tucows.

Windows is the better home system, and no contest for gaming. Mac is definately a work computer. Congrats on the new computer!

you know someone could easily argue Linux is better for work. Anyway, switch to PC is unbeatable for gaming and varity of software. However, the greatest lost (to switching to PC) is you can't not blame Durf if your PC decided to crash.

If you have OSX it's entirely possible and pretty easy. If you still need help with it, fire me off an email: taylor31415926535@swbell.net and I'll send you some step-by-step instructions. I'm at work now and I'd need to be at my Mac at home to tell you exactly how to do it.
