View Full Version : How should I build a pure rabies druid?

Recently, after reading Kaz's fireclaws/rabies druid guide (my compliments on that guide btw) I got really curious about a build like that. However, I do not really like hybrids and I really feel like going for a pure rabies druid.

So, I'm currently wondering, how should I distribute those skillpoints? I'm not intending to use the carrion wind "bug". This is how far I've gotten:

20 Rabies
20 Poison Creeper
20 Oak Sage

But what should I max from there on? Perhaps werewolf and lycantrophy?

Also, what would be a good gear setup? I'm not sure if it will look like the gear setup given in kaz's guide.. since I will be focussing on rabies damage, and not on fireclaws or whatsoever.

I intend to him use him for PvP.

Thanks in advance :)

I'm no expert, so don't quote me, but I think Lycanthropy would come before Oak Sage. It will give you more life, and keep you in WW form longer.

As for gear, I am sure that you will want lots of Poison Facets (if you're rich), a lot of +skills for damage, and some good AR. I don't know what typical rabies gear is, but I'm sure that if you look for those mods, you won't go wrong. So, for the build, I would recommend:

20 Werewolf
20 Lycanthropy
20 Rabies
20 Poison Creeper
All rest into Oak Sage or Fury

Fury would be a nice complimentary skill if you have a decent melee weapon, but I don't know if you consider that a "hybrid" or not, so I won't go there. :)

Welcome to the druid forum! :howdy:

I agree that something along the lines of the build that skygoneblue suggested, although I wouldn't spend that many points in werewolf, I would probably leave it at 1 point to be boosted with +skills(unless you intend to do PvP). With the remaining points you could either put a point in grizzly and max oak or fury or put a point in grizzly and split the points between direwolves, oak and fury as you see fit.

Have fun posting and good luck with your wolf!

Thanks for the warm welcome :)

Yes, I intend to use him for PvP, so I'll just max werewolf then. Oh and is IAS required for a rabies druid? Since all I will be doing is biting I'm not sure if I need it.

How you build this char depends much on whether you play PvM or PvP or how offensive/defensive you want to play. For example you can max poison creeper, rabies, grizzly and how for maximum summon damage but your survivability can suffer.

Well, lets just say I'm filling in for Unchosen and proud. ;)

edit: Yes IAS is needed if you need to take your bite quick(eg. biting running char). There are a couple of weapons to choose from, including 110% IAS phase blade and giant thresher(range 5).
