Cool Patriarch - but what's with the axes? Spearthrower called himself that for a reason you know. :)

I actually remember reading one of Spearie's throw-barb guides. I completed one in an MP group, but the constant trips to town for repairs (every 90 seconds or so at one point) drove me crazy.

Last I heard Spearthrower was teaching in Thailand now. Waimea still keeps in touch with him from time to time.

Is Spearthrower the first of your set of 7? I want to know who you've chosen for all the other characters now. :)

Nice work sunbearie  I hope to get a thrower to Guardian one day. :) Also, nice themed char idea

I actually remember reading one of Spearie's throw-barb guides.
I think that guide is still out there on Stargaze's site. If I ever get the time (yeah right), I hope to bring all of those classic 1.07-1.09 guides into the Strat Compendium.

Nevermind, I accidentally posted after the webpage was open for 3 hours or so, and others had mentioned this point already...

Excellent work! All that running back and forth to town must of gotten annoying, eh?

Yes, yes, I know I should have went with spears but the main thing is spears have a really small quantity. I went with them first but 80 spears disappear in less than a min especially in the beginning with no good equipment. I keep more axes in a stack :)

One thing I forgot to mention abt this char, he's constantly trying to get money. It costs a lot to keep repairing those axes and I never liked to twink money.
I did keep 2 high elemental spears for PIs though :)

Last I heard, Spearthrower was teaching in Thailand too.

So far, I've considered a zealot for Greybeard and a Frenzybarb for Darkness. I'm still open for suggestions for the rest. Oh, a build for Durf would be appreciated. Thought of doing seven chars for seven moderator (including a crazy hardcore build for AE) but those are just future projects

Maybe an Assasin of some sort - really fast and chaotic. For me, maybe a Druid. That's my favorite class.

Yep, Frenzybarb using swords for Darkness (I believe his had a Doombringer and Grandpa). For Durf, a Charged Boltress in honour of Sparkys 1 through 8 (or however many hardcore CB sorcs he's managed to kill off). Maybe an Elemental Summoner for AE? That still leaves the assassin, necromancer and amazon slots to fill.

I have a 1.09 Matriarch named (and built) after a forum member: Sapphidia.

She was not around when I signed up here, but her old posts were (there was no forum crash in a long time back then).

Sapphidia is an amazon that wields a two-handed sword, uses no Decoy/Valk and is accompanied by a Fire Rogue. She spent a lot of times moving around to arrange fights she could win. Life steal was crucial for survival.

I deviated from this weapon choice only once, against Hell Ancients. I killed Talic and Madawc with a bow with enormous poison damage and lots of running (you know that was a good method in 1.09!). The poison immune Spectral Hit Lightning Enchanted Korlic, she meleed. I´m very proud that she could stand up to him.

Sapphidia´s weapon of choice (dropped by NM Mephisto) was a Shael-ed Cloudcrack.

Total deaths during her career: about 20. If I had played such a build now, there would have been a lot less deaths, but I seriously doubt I could have made her Guardian, even in this version.

One of my favourite characters of all time. Maybe I should try it in 1.10...

Go for it, it'll be hilarious if we have a MP game with SPF chars

sunbearie - did you go by a different nick in the old days or are you just from older days than me :P ?

Cool idea! I've got a lvl94 pally named Ryan_Greybeard. With aura flashing dead, you won't be able to make the classic "tankadin", but I think you should certianly try to finish the game with a baranar's star!

Darkness's sword should be a 1.07 grandpa to be completely accurate. :)

It would be funny to have MP games with "sponsored" characters. GG team MicTar!!!

my running wolf is gone as i asked for it (think AE did it)

the reason why i wanted it gone is that I as a white user can not change my profile in anyway nor can i send pms but that is old news.

if i would have had the option i would have changed to a better running wolf as a member here once made wolfie much better then the version you saw.

I've been here from the first day of the SPF but I'm not that active a poster so I'm easily forgotten

I'll need two of them to be exact

To be honest, I'm not going for complete accuracy simply cos
1) some of the stuff is near-impossible to get
2) I'm working on rough memory here on what they had

Anyway, I'm going with an untwinked char next so it'll depend on his luck.

1.07 GF +ohm & Silence CB be precise. :)

Oddly enough I was speaking to a certain Mr Spearthrower today. He is alive, well, still teaching in Thailand. If he doesn't pop in here, I'll send him your regards.:)
