What do you do against a lagspike?

So yea I tried some hardcore, built a lvl 25 sorceress who was taking on diablo with a group of 5 people (very doable?) so I tried to static him, lagged a little and died (i'm pretty sure it was his lightning but I couldn't see) before I could do anything. How can I fix these kinda things? I mean I don't have anything yet so I can't load up on 500 life and 75 lightning resist quite yet. I'm not playing until I find something to fix it, because imo serverlag is even a less pleasent death than being pk'd.

Nothing much to do exept dieing, eventhough max res and mucho life generaly helps when going up to diablo, especialy in HC.

That's the point, I was totally untwinked, and never had any problems until the lagspike :(

It was really like, hey where's diablo? *life in 1 second gone, *hits rejuv too late** hmm crap.

There is not much to do, you have two options:
1) Hit a rejuvenation potion and exit right away;
2) Hit a rejuvenation potion and walk/teleport away from the monsters.

The first option should be the safest, but in case you have died no-one will be able to get your loot no matter what.

The second one will work most of times, but it will not help if you have been disconected and will not be efficient against extra fast melee monsters if you have many lag spikes in a row. It will give you good chances of getting loot, also.

Even untwinked there are steps you can take.

Lvl 25 is kinda low first of all , especailly untwinked do river runs till you are about 29-30

Get 3 socket armor / 3 socket mask both of these drop in normal. Add in regular rubies. Thats an easy 100~ life right there

Get a 2 socket shield and put in 2 regular diamonds or reg topazs for resists.

Larzuck sells alot of items for twinking as well. ie belts with resists or life, same with boots.

Pick up EVERY rare item you come across. When you are untwinked your standards of whats good / bad drop dramatically.

As for lag spikes they happen not much you can do about it.

3 socket shields are easily shoppable from Fara in Normal.

My zon played with the same shield from lvl 12 through 82 (upped at around 40) Gambling bone shields with elzix will pay off, they are cheap when you are small and can roll some really good mods Upping them later will give you a 100+def shield with those same great mods.

Mine was 2 socketed, deflecting, prismatic 8%, 12% to cast charged bolt and an extra 30 to cold res and something else .... forget now

May not seem all that great at first glance but 65% block, nice cold res boost and holes for 2 p diamonds ... damn I miss my shield :hanky:

Diablo is your toughest foe in normal (2nd is duriel) and like what others said, lvl at least to 30 (if you are cold sorc by then you should have enuff killing power to take on him in 1 ppl game).

Socket armor / helm / shield with gem and rune, you should be able to get max lightning/fire resist.

BTW 50% of the time there's a resist light/fire shrine spawn in CS. Fill your belt and inventory with pots. You have 48 secs to finish him off. Save/exit try again if there's a close call, good exp / gameplay in CS anyway.
