Hi. Is there a list of what is typically dropped based on what character you are playing as? For example, I'm playing a Sorc right now and it seems like a lot of Druid pelts are dropping. Further, I played as a Barbarian (my main account), and everyone knows they only get Bows dropped. Is there a guide or list of who gets what dropped for them? Thanks.

Monster drops aren't affected at all by the class or level of your character. I guess it's a mix of good/bad luck and you having become more attentive to what would strengthen your theory.

Hehe.. that's like saying you only get arrows when you carry a crossbow and only bolts when using a bow. It just looks like that because it annoys you and you remember what annoys...

Not really. I remember everything that drops. For my Barbarian, more bows/crossbows drop than anything else, statistically. I could run through a couple games and tell you the average amount each item drops. Bows/crossbows would be highest on the list.

I don't believe you remember anything that drops. Examples: What was the sum of the last 10 gold piles you found ? What was the 7th item you found when you started let's say on July 11th ? My point is that the human brain is constructed to remember only things it deems "worth" remembering which are bows when you play your barb and druid pelts when you play your sorc.

If your barb finds more bows than other characters, it's pure incidence. The game isn't programmed in a way that barbs find more bows than other characters. That's a fact.

If that's not satisfying for you, I can't help you. I mean no offense, but in that case you should ask yourself if you are just waiting until somebody writes what you want to hear.

In that case, we're both dumb. You for being preprogrammed into only remembering things you want to remember, and me for not realizing it was obviously dropping more bows because of where I was leveling. I appreciate your "insights" into the human mind though.

The so-called "insights" are no self-bred ideas. I read it in a scientific magazine and I believe everything that's written there  It must be my hard-wired brain, but I'm sharing that fault with 99% of humanity.

I agree with krischan completely. The human mind always remembers things worth remembering better than other things. Of coarse you wouldn't remember all those flawless gems and gold you picked up. Those are useful, but they drop all the time.

Other than that, the game is not programmed in any way, to drop more of one thing for any particular class. You're just experiencing coincidence and luck.

Thanks for supporting my point about the human brain and about drop chances in general

It seems there is a reason for his barb finding more bows. Senff made a vague hint about it in a later posting. Some monsters are better at dropping certain stuff than others. IIRC the act 1 archers drop more bows than others and if his barb is active e.g. in the pits while his sorc is doing Meph runs, the barb will indeed find more bows than the sorc. The problem was, that this detail was missing in the first posting.

Hmm, never knew that. The only instance where that happens, as far as I know, is when those flying scimitar things in act2 drop scimitars.
