I'm trying to find a 5 socket weapon for CTA. Where's the best place to look? I was thinking normal cows... Any suggestions?

I'd do the same thing.

Norm cows wouldnt be the best place, many times items that can get as high as 5 will get stuck with only 1-4 in norm. If you are looking for a normal class item that is white than use the cube formula this can work, but that formulas as well as Lazurks quest reward can supply you with less than max sockets with a low item lvl.

For instance.....2-3 socket flails or War Axes fall in norm, you usually dont find max sockets until NM womewhere, so maybe the better place is wiht a mass killer in Flayer in a big game solo.......tons of drops, and in NM.....do it your way, but i think NM would be best bet.

Another hint is to remove any MF gear you wear. Socketed items are more likely to surface with little to none MF gear.

If you don't feel like wasting a socket quest, just look for a bunch of normal items and use that cube recipe for all of them. and hope you get 5 sockets in something
