I am thinking of making a Countess Runner. Most likely straight Lightning, with a Holy Freeze Merc. Are there too many LI around her to do it, or will I be fine?

Any dual element Sorc can successfully run the Countess though you need a good merc.

The fire/cold sorc will be able to kill everything but the Countess and you will need your merc for that but a single point in static field will still make short work of her.

Ya static helps, but dont forget to TK her into a corner

Just another vouch that Meteorb works even though she is always cold and fire immune. Getting down there in a hurry and wiping out everything that gets in your way on the bottom are the only two things that matter. Any Act II merc with decent equipment should be able to take her down fast.

I didn't even think of using TK. Thank you for the idea!

Want to agree here with Myladys-Knight and the others. I'd say any build can take care of the countess with a wellequipped Merc, Static Field and Telekinesis.

TK (Telekinesis) is still underrated for some of its usefullness. I real lazy Sorc will not ned to walk alot anymore, beside teleporting, since TK can be used to activate all kind of nice things.

Also, the stun on Telekinesis ALWAYS works (except on some super unique boss monsters)! Though Telekinesis is a Lightning spell, the stun is not part of lightning, just the damage that TK would deliver, but which is not worth speaking off.

I still find the stunning one of the best things you can have from TK. The amount of times i have used it to push monsters against walls and totally disable them since they cant even cast spells when you have decent FCR, is just too funny to look at or dismiss.
With this technique even any single-tree build can get through the game with a good Merc, unless you happen upon a physical immune and immune to your element monster, which is rather seldom. TK and Static Field are in that way the ultimate Sorchelper.

I suggest you to make dual tree ligthning/orb sorc with a holy freeze aura merc. Try to make her with 0%mf (If possible) and she just only needs MaxBlock and 105% FCR.

This is not the best sorc ever, but you don't need an excessive firepower to run countess.

Use orbs to handle light-immune archers and lightning to own any other monster. Merc must tank Countess minions for 4-5 secs, he must give you enough time to toast them avoiding melee. Don't allow him to die. Allways tele from outside to inside and do not step in the doors firewalls, because them grants you a varied type of nasty curses.

I use a sorc like this to do countess, and is really good for it.

Good hunt.

pretty much any sorc will do the trick. my pure fire sorc runs her very easily. everything around the countess (bar the fallen and goatmen, who aren't a problem because fallen = stupid and goatmen = small numbers) melts and the countess takes a few swipes from my merc (static field of course) and that's it.

I use a TS/Nova sorc to run her. Remember that running her at players 1 gives the best results rune-wise, so you don't have to deal uber damage. I just teleport to her, 3 Nova's later it's over, bar the times where she's highly lightning resistant. If that is the case, generally a TS strike ends it.

Only thing that doesn't die down there are the archers, but given a decent merc, that's no problem...just teleport such that he takes the shots while you finish the rest. No need to kill them after all.

There are someCI monsters on the way down to The Countess. Also in the lvl with her room there are some, but i havent noticed any near her, so it doesnt matter since you just teleport to her.

Uhm...isn't her entire pack CE? Her FE makes her FI, I believe she's base CI, like the rest of her pack. I'd say pure cold is a bad choice for a Countess runner.

Yes it is.

The largest percentage of monsters on the way to the countess are fire immune.

The archers are LI.
Corrupted rogues are CI
Ghosts are PI
Fallen are FI
Goats are FI

I still ran the countess with a Pure fire sorc that had 105 FCR with out much problem. My merc was a barb with Duriels Shell, Tals mask, and doombringer.
