Grrr... I don't have a computer fast enough to run it. Was gonna wait to upgrade until 1/2 life 2 comes out. Which at this rate will be some time after Diablo IV. I guess I'll lurk around here a bit after everyone gets a crack at this game and decide if I should beg borrow or steal some money for a new p.c.
Or maybe I could sell Items on ebay to get a new PC :D j/k
Are you below the minimum reqs they list? Hell my Wife played it on a 128 Ram 1 gig but it does have a 128 Vidcard. She lagged a bit in towns and took a long time to load up quests, but playing she didnt have any real issues.
They are doing a free beta test for the world again in October you should give it a try jsut for giggles, it may work, and considering the technology they are using if you can play the Beta you shouldnt have any more problems with the full game.
I think the minimums are somehting like this but you should check
Pent III
64 Vid
128 Ram
Wasnt much HD needed as I recall

The E3 for everyone ran fine on my computer, highest graphics settings in solo areas, lowest in multiplayer areas, ~25fps in either case:
PIII 800MHz on a noname mobo w/ integrated sound
512 MB PC-133 noname RAM
GeForce 3 Ti200 64MB gfx

Hmm... work laptop is 700mhz 256 MB win98 with 2000 w/s on another partition. Tried loading the e3 freebie thing on it. Wasn't too good. Home is 800 mhz 512 ram win2k with an nvidia geoforece 3 i think 64 meg vcard. Haven't looked at it in a while. Might be worth a try on the home PC then. If only my A/C hadn't died in my stupid car. Texas... August... $2000 for new compressor... must... stay home... live cheap... play D2...

I know how to fix that cheaper!!! Hair Spray....or more hair Spray, roll the windows down and drive faster and screw the Air Con and get a new puter!!!
Hell, i think I was 32 before I had a working airconditioner in a car. I once bought a car that had it working and then it stopped so I removed it. Now if you are stuck in slow traffic alot disreguard my suggestion, God i would hate to see someone croak of heat exhaustion. TIP....case of bottled water in the care at all times......
Might just be able to get one of those 300-500 dollor boxes from Dell.....ya 300-500 is still a lot of money, but unless you are wanting to go for like EQII or something liek that you dont need a lot to play DII and GW

2 grand for fixing air con? What do you drive a roller? I just had a complete rebuild of mine for like £500 in my FTO.
Get a new estimate man
Chill
might be one of those newer car deals and the warranty ran out 2 days before. Air Conditioning is one of those things that can really cost a bundle especially if it is a new design and not in many makes of cars.

It should run well on mines but sometimes even WC3 on almost the lowest setting still lags..
It might be cos my HD is always 90%+ full...
or my intergrated video card :(
Pre-order huh...

I dont think you have ever lived in texas.... the philosophy of "Screw the Air con" will get you killed! Temperatures of 100++ are not unheard of. If you arent on a highway, you will be baking alive with no air con.
And RE: Guild wars... I am so excited about this new game... I am guessing that with the current game name, there will be some sort of guild feature....?
Anyways, my point is maybe we from HC forum should get together and make a guild (when the game actually comes out....). Should be pretty fun, since there are no realm divisions (I don't think) so there arent anymore excuses for nightshade not to duel me ;)

Me....not pre-order? You got to be joking :) Of course I'm pre-ordering.
@Steve,
Guilds have been in the game for a short while now. They're pretty cool. There's also going to be some pretty sweet Guild Vs Guild action.

Yeah, kinda hard to ignore the A/C in Dallas in August. Been lucky though, this was the most mild August in the history of Augustaz. Only got into the low 100's first part of the month. If we were doing the 110+ thing it would be really really ugly. Shop said the compressor was 6 or 700 just in the box and that there is some kind of valve buried inside the dashboard that has to be replaced. 95 eclipse GST. Thank god I lucked out on the 80 degree August though, now I can cruize to March. Maybe build a new PC... pay off some debts... really want to get the 256 MB Radeon card that will go so well with half life 2. Of course... need new motherboard too... and those fancy clear cases are cool... but Dell is so cheap... GRRR. Unfortunately other life things keep getting in the way of my video game hermitism.
How am I supposed be l33t killer if people keep calling me on the phone, coming over, wanting to see movies, have brunch, get drunk in the middle of the day etc? I"ll never make a career out of winning death matches at video game competitions at this rate! Maybe I need to train like the olympic swimmers, getting up at 4:00 to get my "work out" in :winner:
The PvP is a blast, even if you arent too serious if you jsut stick to the plan you can compete, have fun and probably eventually loose, but its still fun. In the E3 event I got lucky and hooked u wiht 3 different teams that went really far, but the rest of the time had many that werne t near as good but i still had a blast.
As for a Guild......well, for right now I am a soloist in the game I dont know if any of my clanmates from TEB will go for this game. I hope to hook up with some people that will work at being good in PvP. Maybe some Guild will see me play and give me an invite or womthing, I am not one for jumping from clan to clan or guild to guild. Where ever I land i will jsut do what i can to help make it as good as it can be.

I honestly prefer GW in it's e3 beta stages to WoW just due to the fact there will be no gestapo ish enforcement of "Never make anyone feel bad" rules....
No monthly payments? Great! Go to school for the manditory 7 hours, work for another 6 and play for what? 2-3 hours before you're completely exhausted? You bought it so no wasted cash..spending the initial 50 + 10 bucks a month for a game you don't get to play very often (if you're like me) isn't worth the time.
Now i am not part of Alpha, but they seem to be trying to keep the weapons under control wo the better weapons arent that much better. This also fits into a guy like Nightshades hours wiht limited time you can still go out and compete, where with DII hell it could take a month to build a dueler that still isnt top end.
To me the game looks like i could play it a lot less time and stilll have a blast, and maybe even still play some DII and be ok in that also whihc would be pretty cool.
If anybody is building a guild of some pretty dedicated brawlers i am interested. I dont realy know if I want the semi-dedicated scene, but I also dont want to hang with a bunch of eleitest arse bags either.
i am very interested in some organized team from here, maybe not a fullfledged guild but organization for those "once a month" Beta runs as it would give that organized group a chance to improve over time and maybe in month two, or 3 we can really give some of those Alpha guys a good run for thier money.
