I'm a lvl 76 meterob sorc wearing full tals, ss (max block), and i've just got into hell. I was wandering how you other tals meterob sorcs out there are handling hell baal runs? I'm thinking about getting a wisp ring for those pesky gloams and souls, but i'd like to hear other peoples opinions. Btw i have about 900 life at the moment.

Thanks

My last Meteorb ended with lvl91. I never had any Lightning absorb with her, when doing Hell Baals.
Usually Wizard Spike and Lidless were on switch so i'd just do some fast teleporting down to one of the corners of the Throneroom and switch back to full Tal's set there. Then just open TP and get up and let the others down.
If i were on my own in 1p games i would plant Meteors around the Throneroom and teleport like mad if there were Black Souls about. Those would die very fast then.

Of course since i had no Lightning absorb i had been unlucky a few times where i teleported into a bosspack of BLack Souls on the way down to the Throneroom, but usually that was not the issue. With 105% FCR you can mostly escape anything. Mind you i also had Shiver Armor which provides nice protection since it chills on attack and not on hit. Another nice extra to help you escaping.

Using Whisp might give you some more saftey though i guess. Might be a good choice to replace it with one of your rings.

You might be able to do Hell baals with a lvl77 Meteorb, but i think you will lack some life with here. My lvl91 had about ~1200 life with some packed small life scs, with between 17-20 life on them. Also resistances are maxed with both full Tal's and wizzy/lidless.

My lvl 90 Meteorbess can handle players 8 Hell Baal runs, but it's slow. Up to 3-4 players the speed is reasonable, after that it's slow.

She uses a 15% Wisp and although it slows down the rate at which you go down against Gloams, it does not protect you like Thundergod's. Sooner or later you'll end up teleporting into a pack of Gloams and they will kill you. Simple as that. Note that my setup does use TK 20 with a prebuffed ES, meaning her effective life is higher than the 900 actual life.

I have a lvl 90 (and 1/3rd) Meteorb sorc. When building her I gave her exactly 100 str so that she could wear Skulder's Ire. Now I really regret not pushing it to 110 for Thundergod's. She can deal with Black Souls, but only if she moves slowly and lays down some serious firepower ahead of her. I think rather than trying to level up twice more for the stat points (which will screw up my max blocking), I will just try and find a D-Clone for an Anni charm. I don't really want to make the room for strength charms!

My level 87 Meteorb has no real problem with souls, unless they are unique and have fast attack mod or are in huge packs. I wear full tals with dwarf and raven rings, magefists, SS, and war travs. On switch I have wizspike and Tiamats rebuke for teleporting when doing baal runs.

I find using frost orb on souls works well keeping them busy and unable to spam lightning and keeping them in place to plant meteors on them. After i whittle the number of souls down I will switch to fireball to finish them off faster, while I continue to rain meteors on them.

Everybody seems to forget merc. Get a holy freeze merc to slow down those pesky souls while teleporting. Blue-painted souls seems to be less souls.
And don't forget to have on left mousebutton a ready fireball to toast them.

Hmm, never thought of using Holy Freeze Merc for them
Thx for pointing Tinitha

Yeah, from what I've seen, Cold/Fire sorcs can hadle BS's quite well. Just be gald you aren't lightning though... :) The main thing todo is stay and fight them.. if you run/tele, they'll follow, and you'll have to deal with them and whatever other demonic forces are present, making things much harder. Just hit them hard and fast, cold first (Blizz, FO..) then meteor or fireball them to death.
