I was wondering about features on some gear like crushing blow% or chance of open wounds or even deadly strike, anyone takes theses things in consideration on items?Does it help kill faster? Or is it useless?

Lots of people use deadly strike, its just..... deadly, a chance to do double damage! with enough you're almost guaranteed double damage

Crushing Blow is a huge help!!! Especially against the act end bosses. Andy, Duriel, Meph, Diablo, and Baal. Open wounds works the same as poison damage or prevent monster heal which will help you out a lot in hell. Deadly strike? See Mcsaladshakers post, I think he hit it right on the head.

Yes, speaking of deadly strike..........
Crushing Blow > Diablo Clone
CB is especially useful with characters that hit very fast for lower damage, like a zealot. As a matter of fact, with my frost-zealot, I can take down hell baal in a mp game with Crushflange. Yes. That's what I said. Crushflange, that crappy little unique mace weapon doing a whopping ~6-17 damage. Add in a Guillame's and some Goblin Toes, and you're set to do some Baal woopin'! Now of course, he's much happier with his Heaven's Light than the Crushflange...

Just a FYI Crushing blow takes a percentage of the monsters remaining life kind of like static, but not as much, its like 10 or 15% per hit, but that does cut the super high life guys down to cheese fast.

My level 45 pvp pally loves his deadly strike. Also, I have a kickassin built around crushing blow and open wounds. They are both pretty effective, especially considering their gear is relatively cheap.
Crushing blow, open wounds, deadly strike are commonly used by chars that deal rather low phys dmg from their main gear but compensated by high attack speed (zealot and kicksin) and/or elem dmg.
Even if you have massive damage due to some insane weapon CB, DS will still make a hughe difference in kiling speed. In 1.10 CB are so important in order to have a seccessfull melee build.

Couldn't agree more - I am currently building a Tesladin who is great normally, but with LI's thats gonna be a problem. Solution loads of CB and even with his poor Physical damage he can still take em down fast

I love my barb with his near 100% DS. He does 3.3K zerk with a D. Cleaver, but it's really 6.6K max. :)

Oh so deadly strike does double berserk damage? Wasn't sure about that. Does anyone know if elemental damage from sources (gear, charms, enchant) is converted to magic?
Guillaumes face, Goreriders and STRENGTH claw on a Dragon Talon sin are just awesome to bring monsters life down.
Hone Sudan, Guillaumes face and Toothrow are also something I love to see on my mercs, if I can find them.
My last zon and her merc had flee, CB, slow and OW and whatnot on items. Monsters would run, while slowed and bleed from all orifices after their health had been severely lowered by CB and DS.
Fun.
In that line of thought, I have a HF merc equiped with a Woestaff for my Wind Druid. He can't kill with that weapon, but keeps everything slowed, chilled, blind and confused....
are cb, ds and ow capped?? or can i have 100% ds?

I believe you can have 100% chance of all 3 with the right set up.
Incorrect - max chance is 95%.
(As is the max for anything in Diablo really...)

crushing blow works differently pvp and differently vs different monsters. Basically here's how crushing blow works. Vs pvm act end bosses chance to reduce their remaining health by 1/10 for example lets say diablo has 100 life, if crushing blow is succesful takes off 10 life then regular dmg is done big help. Vs champions and normal unique monsters and champions takes off 1/8 remaining life and vs normal monsters it takes off 1/4 of their remaining life. Deadly strike and critical strike are the same thing except they don't stack. Basically the way that works is it with a succesful blow checks % critical if its succesful then does double dmg no deadly checked. However if it fails it checks deadly % and if that is succesful double dmg but if not regular dmg. So if you have 20% critical and 80% deadly you won't do double damage everytime instead its 20% critical and 80% critical fail * 80% deadly for 64% so in theory that gives you 84% chance to do double damage. Open wounds works by your level and also difficulty lvl you are in.
So basically for melee in hell crushing is vital, critical/deadly help a lot, and open wounds is just ok.
Basically if you are an end boss mfer non melee get a merc and put honesundan/guilliams/duress on for massive crushing blow.
Oh and btw critical/deadly can get 100% chance with enough items, however open wounds and crushing are capped at 95%.
