Trang-Oul's Set Question

The Arreat Summit says that wearing this set will result in a slower casting rate, even with fast cast items. Is this true only when wearing the whole set or will wearing any of the pieces slow you down? Does each piece slow you down more and if so by how much?

Actually, it is a bug (only :lol: )

When you transform into a Vampire by wearing the full set the animation of the vampire sets your total faster cast rate to 0. This might be because the ingame monster vampires have a cast rate of - zero.

Only when you wear the whole set AND have the vampire appearance (cast rate is correct on those rare ocasions when your char is incorrectly displayed as a necro). The problem is that the cast rate is tied to the animation for the vampire. Likewise walk speed is same as run speed in vampire mode since vamps have only one movement speed.

Thanks guys; that's what I was hoping. Though it would be a lot of fun to float around like a vampire it's nice to know I can wear 2 or 3 pieces without ill effect!

This bug would have no real effect on a daggermancer, correct?

I don't know what spells you use but I have to believe that every good necro uses some curses if for no other reason than crowd control. It would certainly slow those down. It would be up to you if that's enough of a reason to forgoe the complete set bonus and the creepy cool vamp look!

Good point. My conc barb spams Howl or Battle Cry every now and again, and I could imagine a daggermancer would want to spam whatever curses he uses. I'm only clvl 14 atm (started the character with a friend in mid-July and haven't picked him back up yet), but I'm scheming...

Of course, all I have are the gloves atm, so it's a bit academic at this point.

Maybe on a Venomancer as well, since they don't need to spam the Poison Nova all the time (2 second poison delay)... though many spam PNova just in case and rendering the game unplayable for anyone with less than Deep Blue.
