"A story by Myrakh" :-)
Just now, this was a terrible fight vs. the diablo clone.
It started as always --- I cleared the way from stony fields wp to the tristam portal where I like to spawn DC. It was a long way, though :-(
After spawning DC and taking off a few hp, I went to get my revives. Except... I didn't find any. No Urdar. No Maulers. No Blunderbones. I finally found some Thorned Hulks, but they were far from the waypoint... so I decided to TP out and walk the way to DC. Bad idea... when I arrived, I had to revives left.
So I went back to A3 and tried another direction from the waypont. And pretty close. I found a few more thorned hulks, but when I arrived at the waypoint they were gone.
So, direction #3. Nothing.
Direction #4... finally, a few more hulks. I carefully led them back to the waypoint --- it took ages, but out of my pack of 6, 2 arrived with me at the waypoint. They could at least take off some hitpoints from DC before they died. They could have taken more HPs off him, probably, but they mostly wandered around enjoying the scenerey.
I SO HATE BLIZZARD AND THEIR F* STUPID IDEAS. I decided to change strategy and use skellies only --- they vanish as well, but not as much, and I could get them from anywhere, so I could just stay near waypoints. I've always hated the random skeleton vanishing misfeature when running through an empty map because I took the wrong way, arriving with half my army gone. Or the merc just standing somewhere, not moving, not doing anything. But the revives really top it off...
I'll be adapting my strategy, of course --- until today, I took the mule out of the game. Starting with the next clone, I'll take the mule out to spawn the clone, then bring him back in to open a "permanent" TP in tristam... so I can TP back to town after getting revives. Or I'll spawn him on Eldritch... if I take him closer to the waypoint, there shouldn't be too much distraction either.
