View Full Version : Gems in D2C worth keeping?
Just wondering if any gems are worth keeping. Looking over the Horadric Cube recipes, I cant really tell which ones will work and what wont. :spy:

Nar, not anymore since it's not automatically 3 sockets. Once you get half decent gear the recipe won't do much good.
Pgems - keep them all, they are much easier to get in D2C. When you have a lot make a new character and convert them to D2X, you can trade for lots of items with Pgems.

Why should he trade for stuff in Expansion if he plays Classic?
Well, there's no mention that he doesn't play D2X.
A few D2X players have started classic for fun or for easier rune rushing. That means they'd play both. Also, PGems in general aren't that useful in classic either.

No. Rushing characters for the hellforge reward quest. Since D2C doesn't have the ancients, it becomes quicker since you can get a bunch of act 1 characters into hell act 4 much quicker than in D2X. In fact a good sorc or sorc + character combo can do it from act 1 norm to act 4 hell in about 30 mins, 1 hr at most. If you rush a bunch of mules, all you have to do is convert them to D2x, then you have 2 chances of runes via Hellforge reward, from Sol - Um (NM) and Hel - Gul (hell)
Obviously this is much easier said than done, D2Classic, if you haven't played it for a while, is much harder on players due to lack of items you take for granted in d2x (eg runes, jewels, charms) and thus getting to a reasonable level, like 75-ish, is much harder compared to D2X. The aforementioned sorc rusher can still run into very common dual immunes (eg the travincal council in hell can be tough on a sorc) making it hard in some cases to get quest credit.
(Also note you have to beat mephisto in hell in D2C, before you do the D2X conversion, otherwise your mule will still be in NM mode when you convert - rather annoying if you have a level 1-10 mule who can't do NM since ancients requires level 40 and you need to kill them to get to baal)
