Alright. I am building a Blizzsorc mainly for running pindleruns. I have Blizz, Glacial and Ice Blast maxed. Ice Bolt is at 11, and Cold Mastery at 1. How should I do it from now ? How many points in CM should I have (with gear, of course) ? This sorc will used pretty much only for Pindle Hell.

Take CM to 17 with plus skills. A bliz-FW sorc would be better for your purposes and be able to do all the runs too. Pindle sometimes spawns cold immune and you'll have to abort the run with pure cold unless your merc can handle him. Bliz-FW can kill Pindle in mere seconds just as a pure bliz can do.

I am relying on a really strong merc, yes, and I haven't had any problems so far :)

Thanks for the tip though. 17 makes it ... *goes to look at Arreat Summit* ... -100% cold res. Yeah, sounds alright ^^

Again, thanks.

i run pindle with my blizz sorc on ladder and with my defiance merc, i can kill him really fast even if he is cold immune cause pindle isnt exactly the strongest monster in the game...i would add a lot more to cold mastery if i were you since it helps A LOT with dmg...after you get up to the -100 cold resist at lvl 17, max ice bolt and then add more into cold mastery and maybe a cold armor.

Since you will have to lvl some to get to the point where you will do consecutive Pindle runs i would highly recommend maxing Cold Mastery, since this will guarantee you that you will always do DOUBLE damage on monsters and you wont have to think about which monsters have higher cold resistances that will not make Blizzard do double damage.

An easy rule: Whenever you build a pure cold char, its absolutly recommended to max Codl Mastery. Why?
Well, you supplementray spells will improve there damage too, and although you might just use them to freeze monsters in place like with Iceblast or Glacial Spike, you will still add to the damage by maxing Cold Mastery.

Since that elemental tree is your only sourceof attack you should be able to always do as much damage as you can!

The only builds where i would recommend lvl17 CM is with dual tree builds and Archmage builds (though reaching lvl17 there with +skills is rather hard)

The Act5 Barb with a decent 2handed weapon is very effective, though he does not seem to be that popular.

Just do it in nm or norm. It'll make your merc stronger anyway if you lvl it up from a lower lvl than if you just buy it at a high lvl.

Is that true? Why is that? Aren't his stats and life just related to his lvl?

The statistics of all mercs is determined by their level and the difficulty you hire them in. Take an Act 5 barbarian merc at level 85 hired from Normal his Life is 1647 and he has 153 resist all, while from Nightmare he'd have 1564 Life and 150 resist all, and finally from Hell he'd have 1430 life and 147 resist all. All other statistics such as defence, strength and level of stun and bash are much better for a merc hired in Normal. It is well worth considering for the next character you build although it might not be worth levellling all the way up from Normal now.

Incidently, the fastest way to level up from Normal would be if you tanked for the merc in lower difficulties and used static to make kills for him easier. He gets 3 times the experience for kills he makes himself over kills you make for him.

he might get 3 times the experience when he kills things, but if you are like a lvl 90 sorc, and you get a merc in NM im sure you can kill more than 3x faster. Doing runs in nm canyon of magi if you are a firesorc, and in hell is the best. THe lightning dudes die so fast.
