My friend whispered me this evening, telling me of this necro who supposedly had a iron golem that was immune to light/cold/fire/psn. When he hovered his mouse, they showed up as immunities and all. I read the stuff in this thread (http://www.rpgforums.net/showthread.php?t=242439) but I'm still confused ><

The necro said something along the lines of needing a 4 socket pally shield with 38%+ base res, and socketing 4x Pdiamonds. Would gaining res from sacrificed item be different than putting points into Summon Resist?

I don't quite understand the 38% either, because 38 + (4x 19) comes out to be 114. Wouldn't anything over a 100 be suitable in this case?

I really don't know a lot about this, so any thoughts on the matter would be appreciated.

IIRC yes. The res from Summon Resist is capped and can not count towards an immunity. So you will need to make an item that has enough resists.

Yes, anything above 100% will give you an immunity. You will only need to get to 101% Resist all.

Wow this sounds cool.. I've been using my boring clay golem but I think I'll try to make a good Iron golem that I could use forever (as long as I don't duel I guess)

So could this immune Iron golem withstand stuff like the council on the way to meph? When the hydras and sometimes ghouls drop the meteors/fireballs on my golem, they typically die, so I hope this Immune Iron golem can tank it.

Anyone have success with an immune iron golem?

They do rather well. Things like Magic damage and a lot of physical damage will still kill them though. And sometimes, although this is rare, you will loose the Golem to the game because you run too far away from your Golem.
