What's the difference between an Avenger and a Kingalyer wielding sorc?

A paladin attacks faster, can have a higher damage weapon (BoTD), has conviction or fanaticism supporting, gets 1 more life/vit, has holy shield and can do 20 base vengeance + synergies opposed to 1 base vengeance. The mastery bonusses don't outweigh this, not even in pure damage. Energy shield is also hard on a melee build.

Then again a vengeancing sorcy should be fun. But never as good.

In terms of damage, Sorc does far, far more than a pally. Sorcs also have the benefit of being able to tele without enigma, and possibly having frozen orb or some other decent area spell. And they're crazy good in groups, especially with a skellimancer or something. But pallies are faster, and typically have better life and defense.

So the answer for the better character...

Bear Enchantress cuz they're faster than either and still pack big enchant damage.

They do easily pack 5k damage with -150 resist where a sorc does 5k +10kfire without -resist.
