Lol... I just read the tals set stats topic (Yes I like Tals for those reasons as well, and I am doing Baal runs too. And I saw that this guy had a lvl 1 enchant just for his merc and party.

Hmz... I got a pure cold sorceress and often my merc has problems with the skelets from the second baal minions drop. I already Static Field them and my merc is currently already wearing an Ethreal Bonehew with almost perfect stats although I AMNed it to keep him alive. But still their cold and baal his Decrepify makes my merc so slow that he has problems killing them.

BUT: Now I just saw that sentence about Enchant! That could fix my whole problem! I do need 3 levels for it though as I only have warmth on the fire page. I wonder if Enchant is really helping my merc and if its worth it? The 3 levels may take some time as I am already lvl 90 but it could be worth it? Will Enchant lvl 9 make my Mercenary be the Elvis of Rock and Roll? Or will the attack rating help a little, but not be worth it for a cold sorceress and do I just need something great like the Beast armor or something to make my Mercenary really do magical things? (Its a hell defensive mercenary).

In that case I probably just should hire a new NM offensive Mercenary with Might as my defense is already pretty good and I really have problems with cold immunes. For example I canīt do Diablo Hell runs because of the cold immunes and that kinda drives me crazy! Also Lister the last Baal minion, I often have to lure him away to get to baal and that takes time... A good Merc would be nice.

PS: Enchant on switch is no solution. I use Ali Baba and Rhyme on switch :jig:

Giving your merc something with prevent monster heal really helps alot in hell. I had an act5 merc on my pure blizz sorc with gf at first. The dmg was really nice , but monsters almost healed faster then he did dmg. After that I gave him an ethereal kingslayer legend sword (I think it was legend sword) , and eventhough the dmg is quite lower , the prevent monster heal in it really helped out.

ps.
I also think the crushing blow on kingslayer helped , but that's another story. :D

Lvl 1 enchant probably won't solve your problem... you could test it out with a +enchant orb before you decide either way though. I'd recommend a Reaper's Toll, preferably eth, because it'll more or less keep an enemy pack permanently decrepified. It also has itd and huge ll. Also a duriels shell or gladiators bane would be useful armor, because of the cbf mod.

If you still have trouble with the second pack, try separating the skelies after you blizzard the horadrim to death, and just teleport on top of one to pick off them one at a time. If you stay towards the back of the throneroom, baal won't decrepify you or your merc.

Well Bonehew gives 'prevent monster heal' which does wonders vs bosses as baal himself.

and yes I do the teleport dropping to skelets right now and it works.. just not very fast :)

Then why do baal / mephi die that much faster when my merc only hits them once? :)

Because he does a lot of damage? Regardless, Act Bosses have no life regeneration anyway.

If you want to stop monster regeneration, slap a PEmerald or an Um into his weapon. 8)

It isn't. Open Wounds is, though.

Just because a target isn't gaining life doesn't mean it's under PMH.

Enchant is a poor choice and waste of points unless you dump enough points into it + fire mastery.

Enemy fire resist is high in hell so I would spend points making yourself better with synergies and whatnot...

If you really want enchant, keep a Demon Limb in your inv and transfer quickly. It's a level 23 enchant and the crappy damage that enchant would be a nice small bonus i suppose. An extra 100 fire damage...
