while i was working on my druid today (lvl 19) a lvl 18 pally came in my trav run game and went hostile toward everyone and killed us all in 1-2 hits each, he said he was using bartholemews ire or something along those lines. i also came back on my lvl 75 zon to teach him a lesson and while he was an easy kill he took almost 1/3 of my life per hit if he got that close. what item is this? and how is he doing this much damage at lvl 18, i assume he was using smite because of the knockback and it seemed like he had ignore defense. i also looked at the shields and i cannot find this item, was he yanking my chain or is it out there?

Is it a flail? Mace? Polearm? What? If you give us a description of what the weapon looks like, then it might be easier to figure it out.

it looked alot like a hammer, but it might also have been a flail, it was 1h though

yeah i thought that, but he was hitting very hard, and the name sounded like something that would be unique, you never know though.

I don't know if Bliz fixed this, but there used to be a str hack used frequently in pubby duel games. Naked zons would kill in two hits. Possibly this was what he was using, considering the nice damage he was doing. Also, was he charging? And if so, did he have alot of deadly strike?

could be a rare war hammer with cruel mod and knockback on it... but would even that be available at such a low lvl?

how much health did your zon have?

maybe he socketed with some LLD jewels or something (i have a 19%ed 9max jewel available at level 9... WHICH I FOUND its not duped or hacked... normal cows were nice to me :D) he could be using an "80/36 armor" so to speak (the LLD 160/60, which is forbidden on this forum, i know) and a "60/27" helm...

with a cruel warhammer with knockback and decent IAS he could have done that to you...

another thought he COULD have been outfitted for complete LLDing by some uber rich guy... you can find some pretty mean stuff.

was ur zon using good gear? what gear??

You can deal massive damage if you have a 3s helm, 3s armor, 3s shield and 5s flail filled with +15 maxdam jewels (can be used from L18 on). With such a setup you would inflict 1- 234 base damage. If that guy put 12 points into might and 17 into sacrifice (assuming he solved all skill point quests for a total of 29 skill points) and he gets +1 to skills from the Eye of Ettlich, he would get:

384%ed from sacrifice
160%ed from might

That would be a total of (1 - 234) * 6.44 = 5 - 1275 damage, i.e. 1-318 damage per hit in duels. That hurts !

IIRC the %ed from auras and combat skills is applied to +maxdam bonueses from equipment as well. If that isn't the case, forget this posting.

The life loss from sacrifice can be negated by Cathan's, Eye of Ettlich or Hand of Broc. You can reach up to 22% leech which will be enough to survive that even in hell.

You can use the Nilathak quest reward of the character Bartholomew for naming the weapon, of course: Bartholomew's Gemmed Flail...
