Paladin Mastery

My friend is making a Cleric and he wants me to make a strong tank build of some sort to go with him. Here are the options I was thinking of:
Zealot (I already have a good lvl 85 one)
FireClaw Wearbear (I've heard that they can rival a Zealot and are good tanks)
Rabies Wearbear (My friend says they get up to 60k Damage, I'm not sure if this build is all that's its up to be but I sure wouldn't mind making one)
Charger (High damage, decent defense, but wouldn't he be too fast for the Holy Bolt)
Concentrate Barbarian (I heard they have good defense/damage so wouldn't they be a nice tank)
OTHER
Yea, these are the options I was thinking of. If you have another idea please free feel to tell me.

Strong tank build? I'm not exactly sure what a Cleric is, but ever considered a necromancer with skeletons (and clay golem, of course).
Yes, I know, it's cheesy... no godly gear required that could be shown to other ppl, not much of a challenge to tank multiple bosspacks at the same time... boring. But you asked for suggestions for strong tanks :-)

As lame as zealots are for fighting most classes, people are still very impressed by a skilled one. It doesn't make much sense when you think about it.

Theres some sort of respect given to skilled well mannered zealots... Especially when they are overly overly good without three auras and life tap etc. My .09 zealot days were the best gaming days :uhhuh: Sure other patches were ok with zealots but something about paying 40 runes for a cmse, cmsl etc just made me like it? [lol sarcastic but it was awesome]

tempting... you know im still an idiot who wants to go get the exp disk but just never gets to a place that would have it.
when i Do get the game back [curse me breaking it] ima make a zealot for sure... i mean sure i'll look pretty terrible in items given to me but i'll buy low sell high like i used to be the god of - lol

I said a Concentrate Barb, since you can get ridiculous Defense levels, especially if the Cleric has access to a Defiance Aura Shield.
Sacrificer might be just what the doctor ordered, since you can have about 1.3K enhanced damage (before any +skills) on an attack that is normal speed, but enhanced by Fanatism to 35 attack speed.
Yah a Martyr/Sacrificer would be very cool with the build.

I also got another question which is about the Rabies Werewolf. Is it actually possible for them to do up to 60k poison damage? That much damage could 1-2 hit Meph in hell.
If this is pvp and you don't care about cheap- and cheesy- ness, make a charge hammerdin and tell your friend cleric to also max prayer and meditation.
Conc barb is easily the best tank in the game imo. With tons of life due to Bo and 4 life per vita and huge defense due to shout and conc and with 50% DR from gear you have an effective 75% DR to melee with battle cry. add to that warcry so that you will barely get hit at all from melee and you got yourself a tank :)

I voted for concentrate barb, best tank in the game IMO.
And the cleric wouldnt even have to heel him. :buddies:

I dont think it could get that high, at least not without - % enemy resistance or lower resistance.
I get around 35-36k with a plague bearer and without taking into account trang gloves/bramble/facets.
It could be higher with a Deaths web.

I have to disagree. a defiant vindicator can get more defense and doesn't have to worry about ar issues at all. The barb has more life and more damage, and thats about it. Give that vindicator some nice cb, and he will kill meph a bit quicker than herr barb.

come on.. being able to stun everyone around you for seconds in hell and cut their damage in half while having usually more than twice as much hp as any other class and decent defense beats godly defense only
lets see what you have to get through to kill a conc barb:
first off you must be ranged or boss because normal melee will spend their short lives in stun, then you have to pray that the barb isn't skilled with taunting ranged attackers, then you have to get through his tons of defense. once you do you have to get through his 75% block. once you do your damage is split in half and then in half again if the barb has max DR. THEN the miniscule ammount of damage left of your attack will drown in his huge life pool.

I disagree. I've seen rabies druids hit 50k poison damage. I have no doubt that someone could add on another 10k, since I saw this on Ladder where there aren't 290s and 313s.
