errors

i just Re-installed my diablo 2, and i was originally getting this error:

Then, i reinstalled the game, and it was working fine, until a friend played and it started doing it again. To make sure it wasnt just his account i logged onto mine and then this hapended whilei was fighting hell diablo:

does anyone know how i could fix this..i think using a diffrent install disc may work, but i dont want to reinstall again if its not needed

ah..nevermind..i did system recovery..and now i cant install at all..ill poast screenshots of THOSE errors later..im tired

I gotta admit I don't know much about technical stuff but it seems like your computer cannot install D2 correctly, or some third party program (not necessarily D2 related) is corrupting them. Just my thoughts.

Have you attempted uninstalling DII and reinstalling it again?

You don't have to worry about your save games on b.net since they're kept on a server at Bliz. For SP games, you can make backups either using ATMA or just copying the C:\Program Files\Diablo II\save\*.d2s file etc.

When you said that your friend had played, did he install anything? Sometimes, 3rd party programs may end up corrupting the files.

Also, don't mind me asking this, but you've got the original game, i.e. it's not an illegal or copied version, right?

Your installation CD could be faulty. There is no workaround to that unless except getting another CD which contains d2sfx.mpq.

However don't quote me on that
