you'll need a pretty high dmg spear, 4.5k for a 8 player hell game, yes spear is usually more damaging, but at higher lvls spear does more, also, you have to take into consideration the speed, like zons, you want the highest FPA possible to deal out the fastest amount of damage, which is why spear is better, if you're pvm, you'd most likely have CE and amp, so spear a few monsters, then amp/ce and its over. Of course you could use bone spirit to get the first corpse, but on high life corpses, 1 CE wont kill all of em, thats why spear is more useful IMO and im sure others will agree

I would only use the spear if u have gotten to the point where ur spear does more or the same dmg as spirit (approx slvl 45 teeth, 45spear, 45spirit, 33prison (marrows), ~30wall). Othwerwise i guess use spirits but just have enuff mana or pots to keep going.

Spear also pierces, so it hits multiple times. Imo spear > spirit pvm wise.

I agree, you don't need to reach the levels where Spear outdamages Spirit - heck, I haven't even been there myself with my boners and I do just fine. :D

Last time I checked, spear was also more mana efficient (i.e damage/mana was better), which is why my old bonemancer used it vs single targets as well.
