ED%/+max and ED%/+min jewels are bugged in armours. You only get the +min, or the +max, depending on which jewel you have, and not the ED%. They only work as they should in weapons.

At least that's what it was last season, not sure if it's been patched.

is that for only ed/min or max or just ed in general in armors?

Same bug with helms and shields.

the bug is:
if the jewel has +max then ed on that jewel is applied only to the min damage.
if +min then to the max damage
if both then to neither
the only place they work is in weapons

Actually, I thought they worked in weapons and shields... I know built in ED on shields does get counted along with +max/+min, and I'm 75% sure that regular ed/max or ed/min jewels are NOT bugged in shields.... This is speaking from experience with LLD paladins, obviously, the jewels are bugged in armors/helms, and I had a different socket for my weapon, I stuck an ed/max jewel in my shield, and the damage only went up, if it were bugged, i think it would have gone down, because the ED would stop being counted (something like 60ish ED built in, and ~15 on the jewel iirc)

shields dont work either.
Adding a max jewel to a shield would work as not an ed/max.
The overall shield would be ed/max but the socketed jewels just max.
Its a bug per jewel afaik.

This is correct, when an addition in damage is added from a jewel with an ehenced defense percentage, the percentage is overlooked for that added damage. The only time this properly works is when the jewel is socketed directly into the weapon.

ToThePoint has it almost completely correct.

The bug affects all non-weapon socketables (ie helms, armour, shields).

The most concise way to explain the bug is: when socketing one of those items, if the item already has, or is getting, +max, then %ed you add will not affect max, and likewise for min.

So, a pally shield that already has %ed is OK, if you socket some +min or max into it. But if you then socket in some more %ed, the new %ed will be hit by the bug (the original %ed will still all work normally).

If you socket an item like Duskdeep (which has +8 max on it already) with %ed, the %ed will only affect min.

When you socket an ed/max or ed/min jewel you will always encounter the bug. But the complete effect of it is slightly more complicated than that.

Basically your jewel will become +40% Enchanced Minimum Damage, +9 to Maximum Damage when socketed into Guillaume's Face.

Edit: Your jewel doesn't actually become that jewel; the bug just makes it function like one.
