Max Skeletons
Max Skeleton Mastery
Max Skeleton Mage
One point in Revive
One point in all curses
One point Corpse Explosion
Max Venom--For Attack Rating
Let your skeleton army attack, you attack melee too though, using Crushing Blow and attacking as quickly as possible on targets with high health?
I had heard a lot about BEAST Runeword being good for the Fanatism on your minions, but I had never heard anyone talk about stacking Crushing Blow.
Is this Fishymancer, is this Commandomancer, is this something else? Is it a variation on one of these builds. Generally I hang out in the Assassin forum, but I had never heard of using Crushing Blow and going melee.

If you meant venom to be poison dagger...then it's a Commmando.

THanks,
I just had assassin on the mind. I think I was also thinking of weapon switching a Venom runeword knife to poison on occassion as well.

Np...Commando is my favorite Summoner-class build...because of the melee part(with or without beast) and I still get to cause lag :worship:
Though with beast...it's just too sweet in hell with my Commando...and if I chose to be lazy...I can just look pretty and let my horde kill for me.

That's what I always worried about with commando (not that I've ever been rich enough to play a fully kitted-out one). The setup looks so uber that you could probably tapdance your way through Hell and still come out the other end with barely a scratch.
I guess you would just need to discipline yourself to play it the way it's intended to be played.

Or he's just playing for the fun.
When I made my first Skelemancer on the previous ladder, I finally had a char that WORKED. No issues, no troubles. A char that didn't have to worry about anything. No more "damned, immunes again", "damned, how do I get rid of this boss", "damned, now there are two bosses...", "I can't go there because there are too many immunes and/or dangerous monsters". That has always been a pain in the you-know-what, and it was FINALLY GONE.
I don't know how a "commando" is "intended" to be played, but if I had the gear for it, and if it's better than a Skelemancer, I would go for it right away, and play it like D2 is meant to be played: hack&slash through monster hordes, dropping them by the thousands. I'm not looking for a fair fight --- I'm looking for high-speed mass-slaughter, preferably excluding myself from it.
Edit: tapdancing? Oh well... they don't have monsters involved there, but... http://user.chol.com/~by0606/wmv/l2all_1.wmv (that's not D2, obviously :-))

Heh-heh, nice linky :)
I'm sure HoS is playing for fun regardless, it's just that what he is saying rings bells with me, albeit on a lower scale. I loved working my way up through the ranks and finally getting full trangs on my skelemancer in old ladder. I had him kitted out with Marrows, AofKL and some nice jewellery. However, what got me when I reached that level was that my actual playstyle started to get lazier because I knew that I was in very little danger of getting killed. I found that in order to get as much enjoyment out of the game as I had when I was levelling up / acquiring the items I wanted, I had to focus a bit more to retain a fair standard of playing ability.

It was like before I got to my beast...and was using all the lower level weapons that I had...it was sorta fun actually meleeing...but once your able to become a big nasty bear...then I rocked and would continue to do so until money problems came around.
It really did hurt having to go through my entire stash just to repair the beast...and having to stand around watching from the sidelines as my horde did all the killing kinda sucked...until my stash was built back up again.

How bad are the repair costs on a BEAST Weapon?

Mine was between 15-25k...though I also let Yogi come out to play as well...but I found the cost to be well worth it though.
