I'm just gonna idle in the game until I can get some help. If anyone can gimme a shout via my accnt I'd really appreciate it.
give your merc stop mosnter heal.
get your full skeleton army ready. revive about 10+ urdars, they have crushing blow.
decrep Dclone.
if you can teleport, teleport onto dclone.
if not walk to him tp, tp back.
now, the clay golem will slow him. the cold mages will slow him. the decrep will slow him. he wil be veyr slow.
now the urdars will crushing blow smash him and he cannot heal. itll take a while but its foolproof.
this works very well on 8 player baal so im assuming this will work decent on 1 player Dclone.

Well I got some help from somebody on these forums, though I didn't catch his name (though his account was flex something or other and his two characters I saw both had "sexxy" in their names). We killed the DClone with some help from another sorc and I got the charm. Then I asked him to help me xfer the charm, because from his actions, and the fact that he was a forum member, I deemed him trustworthy. Well after about 10 minutes waiting in the norm game I had made (my nec is my only character in Hell) he failed to show up with the charm. It was a sucky one, but thats not the point. The point is he stole it, and, quite frankly, I expected better from a forum-goer.
EDIT: Oh, and he also made off with my Natures Peace:grrr:

Thats not theft, thats entrapment, or enticement (or whatever). I am not American, so I wouldn't know.
Also, consider this: kill Riddick. No wait, I mean consider it from his point of view, he probably feels like he (or she) did most of the work anyway.
There's swings and roundabouts, but someone you have this concept that even though s/he was helping you, that they somehow owe you a favour???
I do all my muling in private games, I lose stuff on the odd occassion (eg the time I was muling and they put out a new version - that sucked :-) but I probably lose a lot less stuff than I would by trusting random strangers to help me.

Hmm I can see what you mean, except for the fact that he did no more work than I, he just cast clay golem over and over. And just out of curiosity, kill Riddick? What?
why would you trust anyone here?
for example, im one evil dude.
since my gheeds fortune fiasco, ive been using my annihilus to trick people to drop teir metal items to turn into iron golems.
im one evil dude.
the people who go OMG NOOB, etc. get what they deserve. those who complain about what i did and how they are poor and i ruined their lives i handed out something better.
Ok first off the charm was anyones fair game when it dropped you were just the lucky one to get it . Second never trust ANYONE to mule stuff for you - Hell I don't even trust my freinds that I have known outside of Diablo 2 . Third if your trusting the assholes on this forum just because your here or trusting anyone in the Diablo community with an anhilius charm you are a noob sorry but I hope this will be a learning expierence for you . Annihilius charms are very expensive - the more expensive the item the more people will do to rip you off for it . - Just like real life .

You gotta love the inane beauty of this post (above). First of all the guy insults all his mates...
I don't even trust my freinds that I have known outside of Diablo 2
...then he insults the entire forum...
the assholes on this forum
...and just for good measure he rounds it all off by insulting the guy he is replying to...
you are a noob sorry
All he needs to do is insult himself and I think he has succeeded in insulting absolutely everybody.
Priceless

Hahaha... you're right. Fortunately for me... I've been very lucky and have met some great people. I've only had D Clone spawn on me one time... and I was playing with another guy. After seeing all the SoJ messages, we agreed ahead of time that I would let him take it... and I did.. and he trusted me enough to look at it afterwords. Weeks later, he was moving it to different characters with me in the game... I have no idea who this guy is... except for in game... and yet, I trust him with my Archon Plate Duress without a bit of worry.... Hell, i've been using his Arreats face for a month now... last night, one dropped, so he gave me the 'loaner' I had for over a month.
I play with another person I met in an online game... and even knowing how much he wants/needs tals set... I've dropped my ammy and armor while he waited in the game and I moved it around.
Sure, I may get burned one day... but i'm not gonna play my whole game thinking everyone is a prick and not to be trusted... now, of course the first time I start playing, i'm cautious... but if we've played together for a bit and never squabbled over who gets what drops, then I feel pretty comfortable leaving my gear with them... why, once I get home tonight, i'll be loaning my wizard spike to a friend to use until the day I decide I need it back.... try playing with more mature ppl and you wont get burned so much... my guess is that guy who insulted everyone is a kid... I don't see too many adults running around calling people noobs... that's a kids thing to say.

I like Governer's attitude towards this game. It makes me realise that I'm not the only person out there who still trusts people. Hell, I just met some guy 2 days ago or so and we've become such good friends that we share mules and items now, and trade for each other. He even lent me an Annihilus and all of that.
It just goes to show that not everybody who plays diablo is a total jerk.

Just wanted to mention that most people agree that PMH doesn't work on a Merc. Open Wounds does and works well in leiu of PMH.
Nice tip about the Udars... I didn't know that thanks.
I don't see too many adults running around calling people noobs.
Thats funny I don't remember seeing ages posted on players next to their names - Oh thats right there are no age postings that means no one really knows how old someone is when they make a comment - hmmm makes you post kinda baseless huh . For the record im many years into adulthood
wish I was 12 again its not a bad thing to be that young and energetic - I would guess half of the people that PK me in pvp are alot younger then I am hense the faster reflexes .
I think he has succeeded in insulting absolutely everybody.
EuroJamie you are a noob . There I know you felt left out so now you you are insulted just like everyone else
Seriously though noob is to me a term I use for someone with not very much Diablo 2 knowlege - I currently have 3 friends that play Diablo 2 and they are all noobs they walk right past stuff they need and do all kinds of stupid stuff - they get killed constantly  anyways the people that play Diablo are worse then the monsters - the game is filled with scammers , con artist , theives , and people that will do stuff to screw you over just to be mean even if it gets them absolutely nothing . People that don't know this fall into the noob catergorie - They haven't played long enough to know how nasty people are that play the game . Or maybe im just a cynical old man - There now I have insulted myself too

It's interesting to see the different views on Dclone killing in the different forums. While the people here seem to agree that anyone who helped kill the Dclone is 'allowed' to take the anni, in the hc forums the person who made the game that spawned Dclone should get the anni.
Well, if Diablo ever walks in a game of mine I know where I'll ask for help :D
PMH only last around 30-45 seconds on the clone. If he left for any long amount of time ie more than that duration you will find he iis probably all ready regen. Advise is to use anything that can stop him from regen while u heal or restock or whatever.

Spot on Governor! I totally agree. I've been fleeced once in a while, and am not blind to the fact that it may happen to me again. However, one of the most positive and enjoyable aspects of the game for me is when a complete starnger on BNet goes out of their way to help you / performs some random act of trust, and this far outweighs the negative experiences I've had. I find it encourages other people to do the same, and I always try to play in this way. :innocent:
@gjcraig, I can totally understand your cynicism, and I'd certainly say that it's easy be become disillusioned by the waves of nasty players that are on BNet. However, I always find I get a better gaming experience when I'm helping people. The concept of D2 is based upon team play, and I find that the game is at its most rewarding when you approach it from this perspective. Playing in this way is even more rewarding when there are so many dishonourable players - the less expected such behaviour is, the more refreshing it can be, imo :)

Well, I'm sorry if I'm a noob for having some trust left me gjcraig. As for the whole "doesn't know a whole lot about D2" crap, you know nothing of me so lets keep that stuff unsaid. I know that I let my naivete take the best of me, but I assume that if we agree the charm is mine beforehand, and he actually LET'S me take the charm (even though he was far closer to it than me), some trust should be given. The fact of the matter is, I consider myself a nice guy on BNet. I hold no qualms on giving someone an item they need and I don't for free, or just giving someone help if they should need it without need for recompense. Being greedy, rude and so on and so forth just isn't part of my nature, and sometimes it does blind me, I admit it. But I will still go on trusting people, because I know not everyone is so base. I may lose items in the process, but they ARE just items, and can be found again.

I have to agree with a lot of the people on here. When someone comes into one of my games, if I don't need something, I ask them. Sometimes they do the same. I look at "free games" the same way. If ya need help again, whisper *ku_theta_chi1 and i'll be happy to help.

Have you ever asked somebody their age? Don't tell me you can't get an idea about somebody and their age by listening to them talk.... you can. I don't know any adults who post things like "My l337 g34r pwns"... sure, I guess maybe some do... but let's be real here... that's a kids thing... along with the word 'Suxor'... i've played with a few ppl consistently... some over 30 and some under 15... nothing wrong with teenagers at all... but when I play with them, I do see a difference in the things they say.... and in general, the more immature players are not the ppl over 25 or so. And before you say it... yes, there are exceptions to this... but in general, that's what i've found to be the case. So no, my post is not kinda baseless.

In the IRC channel for DClone West... the attitude is also the anni belongs to whoever made the game. The only exception to that would be if it was pre-agreed on to be differently. I think that's a good way to do it also.... keeps it simple... I mean... it IS the person who made the games luck... and if other ppl in the game don't agree and think it's not fair... they can leave...

You know... it could be the fault of a crappy computer. I was helping someone mule once and after we agreed to go from a public game to a private to mule. I couldn't join B.net for one reason or another. I kept trying and by the time I got to the game the other guy had given up and left. I hung around for an hour longer.
Tried whispering... this predated the friends list... gave up after a month. Was holding some nice stuff for him too. Prolly garbage by today's standards.
This was when 2 Broadswords of the Titan were the schiznit
quick question, if i were to use say a phase blade with 4 eth runes and a mal rune, plus any other last socketed item, then would i be able to hit the clone and stop him from regen? or does the AR play a huge role in % to hit?
jus wondering, even tho im not goign to do that, since switching away from arm of king L and homonculus gives me -7 to the skeletons and it kills off one skeleton.
If only i had that alusive fleshripper, that would own dclone and even SAM all on the one go :D

This is a doable tactic, and a similar plan is outlined in NightFish's skelemancer guide for boss kills: use a 4-ethed phase blade with Mal (if you have one) and stack up on CB.
I reckon if you want to get some PVM there are probably easier ways though, like trying to incorporate it into your merc's setup.
Dun mercs get penalty against bosses ? So loading him up with CB might not be as affective as loading yourself with cb?

Plausible... I haven't noticed that myself. My guess is that CB is a SME and not damage per se so it avoids the damage penalty.
I could be wrong but I haven't noticed it and I'm just offering an excuse why... Let us know if your experience is different.

Sorry, but i've met many good honest people on Diablo 2. There iss two families who I have met on battle.net & gamed with for years has even came & stayed in my house for a week at a time on their vacation.
Sorry you automatically categorize everyone who logs onto bnet as a thief. Profiling = sucks.
For the record im many years into adulthood
Not many adults think everyone is evil, scammers , con artist , theives , and people that will do stuff to screw you over. Yeah there's some people like that, but not even near the majority of people. Cut off the tv on occasion.

Try getting to know people then rather than judge someone who you don't know a single thing about.

That's funny. I'm 34 & I sure kill +90% of the people that try to kill me. There's more than just reflexes. I use those along with strategy. Lack of it kills more gamers than you'll ever know.

I can't back this up with stats, but I've frequently used CB on a Merc and it has drastically improved my killing speed. It's very easy to see the big chunks being lopped off a bosses life bar when he's being attacked by my merc with crushing below (particularly the boss' life is at a high level). While I can't categorically say that it is as effective as it is when used by player characters, CB on my Merc definitely makes a big difference to my boss kill speeds. I'm inclined to go with royalesse on this one and assume that it avoids the damage penalty.

Hey Steve

just as a heads up, you don't have to be a member of the forums to read the posts... someone could routinely check the forums for games that say "dclone come help" or what not and not actually be upstanding members of the community.
Ledden im not going to bother qouting everything you post like you try to do with me . The simple facts are this - People on battle net are largely not to be trusted . There is nothing wrong with profiling and catergorising people , that have been known to take a certian type of pattern , to protect yourself . If we would have done this a few years back 911 would have never happened - Its not predjudice or racism its using your brain . As far as the younger generations go , yes we can out wit them years = expierence = wisdom - but you can not tell me that your faster then a 13 yr old when it comes to reaction time in a video game - if you are then your defying the law of nature . I would like to think your reaction is going to be about the same as mine im 32 your 34 . I personally can't beat as easily some of the old video games I use to beat as a teenager because my reaction time is slower - if only by a hair . Lastly you are not god when it comes to PVP so stop with the claims that you win PVP 90% of the time and only lose 10% of the time if you are a high level Dueler even if your real good 90% is unrealistic unless you play cheap and selective .
