Hi everybody :howdy:
Iīm new to the forum but i play for many years diablo 2 and a few months ago i started to play in bnet, i made a frenzyer and finish the game with him, now iīm making a concentrator, but i reached a dilema, which type of weapon i will use.....axes,maces or sword.......if i go for maces i will make an ik concentrator(itīs good to survive hell?) , sword itīs cool(i like sword and my frenzyer uses sword:drool: ), and axes never played before.....donīt know if itīs really good or better than sword or maces....so need some help from you people how got more experience in barbarians than me  .
Thanks for the help :howdy:

p.s. two weapon concentrator survive well in hell?

I would go with mace or axe. lot better weapons out there in those types than swords.
as far as two weps?
I wouldnt never do that except with a frenzier.

as hal preaches (and he is right ), a shield is a VERY valuable asset !

I don't really prefer an axe, most of the more powerful axes would require two hands so you probably wouldn't be able to use a shield unless ur using a berserker axe or something. Mace and swords are good also, and you can use a two handed sword with one hand and leave the other one for a shield if you want.

for frenzy, axe/mace is good. nord's tenderizer is always nice with the freezing aspect, and baranars star does massive elemental damage. of course, there is the BotD berzerker axe, which is so good (and so hard to make) its sickening

for a concentrater you want ur standard wep/shield setup. for this build, axes r the best, but only if u already have sum good axes setup for you. playing untwinked and trying to find good axes is HARD, becuz the axes in shops uaually STINK. swords r easier to find, but in the long run, axes r better for use with concentrate.

Axes i didīnt find any of good...yet.
Maces sound good for the unded, I got an Schaefer's Hammer do you ppl think that this weapon is good for concentrator?
If i go for axes maybe would make an crescent moon itīs the higher runeword i can make right now.
Shield itīs pretty good for defense and resistantes and give many bonuses, i should think this more becausa i have to decide if i go with shield or not.

thanks guys for the info

Shaefer's is SLOWWWWW!!!!!! You'll hav a hard time reaching that last bp. Follow Hal's Conc guide. It's right on. You've really got to use a shield. Here's why. You'll be smashing one moster at a time. Therefore, your life leech will be minimal because your attacks will be slower. I didn't even concern myself with ll on my conc barb. Second, you need high defense and blocking or you will get ***** in hell. Conc barbs take a different mind set. No multi kills, just totals tanking. Lots of fun if you ask me. I'm an axe convert. Some good one that are accesible are Razor's Edge, Death Cleaver, and Crescent Moon in a Berserker Axe. Axes have the same reach as swords but are faster thans the CB's.

A shield isn't totally necessary, but it's very helpful for when you run into that fanatic/amp boss pack. Probably the most important aspect to hit for a conc barb is getting to either a 9 or 10 frame attack. You'll notice it's much easier to survive with however you take your conc barb after that point.

Axes are by far the best one-hand endgame weapon, but have some good competition from swords and maces in midgame.

crescent moon in a zerker axe is a powerful weapon, and well worth the runes if you can afford it, but it is very expensive to repair and will often need repaired. a high ed death cleaver will beat out a cmoon zerker. And surprisingly a razor's edge does kill very well. I put it on my conc barb to replace my ebotd zerker and the difference in killing speed was much less noticeable than I expected for everything except bosses where the speed was very noticeable.

Im currntly at lvl 72 with my conc Barb SP and he is using Famine Thunder maul, currently in act 1 hell, and i see no need for a shield yet. the only real problem is might or fanata archers.and they pose little threat when i run up close to them to attack. so id suggest going for a Mace or axe build. using a two hands weapon.

You've got a nice weapon though. The lesser your gear, the more you'd need a shield, as long as you keep up max block that is.

You'll notice the importance of a shield a bit later on. Act 5 is packed full of ranged attackers and defense-ignoerers, which is where the 2h weapon really helps. Not that a shield is required, of course, it just adds so much to your character, ESPECIALLY to conc barbs. More defense for your skills to capitalize on, another slot for mods and jewels, 75% blocking, plus the nice bonuses of insuring a decent attack rating (by requiring all that dex) and a nice swing speed (since 1h weapons get a natural speed boost).

Just a couple more suggestions for weapons. I, too, am an axe convert.

Try crafting a blood berserker axe. You can get some good mods out of that. Runemaster isn't horrible for damage and ias if you have enough shaels. And some people like upgrading the butcher's pupil. That is if you have the pul to do it.
