View Full Version : NOTICE: AFK for a few days
Alright, here's the deal crew: my department is sending me to Denmark for three months to write out my Senior thesis; I leave at 6:45 pm EST today. As such, I will be unavailable to respond to PMs and emails for a few days, until I can get settled in my flat and get my system authenticated with the network. Thus, I ask that if you have any issues you need resolved in the next 2-4 days or so, please address them to Crow.
Sorry about this, and about the delay it has put in my posting of the barbarian FAQ; just had a lot to take care of with getting prepared and such. I will be posting a base version of the FAQ tonight, however, just so we at least have something there, and I will be updating it extensively after I finish proofreading the other pages and get settled in Copenhagen.
Anyhoo, just wanted to give you guys a heads up. I'll be back on in a couple of days....don't burn down the house or anything while I'm gone. Someone make sure to water the plants, see that Rik is fed, and for the love of GOD, keep Halcist away from the electrical outlets with that fork.

edit: The glorious hurricanes rocking the eastern seaboard decided to take away my electricity last night, and so I couldn't get the FAQ up. Looks like it will be a few days...

Update on the FAQ scenario: well, wouldn't you know it, the power went out last night, and I just now woke up. Since I have to leave for the airport in like an hour, it doesn't look like I'll get to upload a copy of the FAQ until I get over seas. I swear, fate is against us on this. I have Blizzard's track record for meeting release dates.
So bleh, there will be a FAQ up soon in the near future. She's finished, it's just a matter of formatting it for the forums and reading for errors to upload.

Yes Denmark was/is the land of the Vikings BUT so was/is Norway.
Btw the Vikings were the first Europeans to land on the shores of North America not the British, if somebody cares.
Ok, I've made it to Denmark, but I've yet to get registered with the network. I'm in the tech lab throwin this out right fast before the hurry me out to another meeting. I just wanted to let you guys know I'm alive and ok, and I'll hopefully be back on moderating with the next day or so.

Haha, I'm spending a few months studying at Danmarks Biblioteksskole in Copenhagen to write my thesis on networking. I'm really enjoying it so far; the air is cool and crisp, and very clean, and the water is great as well. Your recycling fee for drink bottles sucks though, and having to pay for plastic bags at the grocer is kind've irritating, but all and all it's very lovely.
All of your women are blond and gorgeous, I need to see about getting one shipped back to the states when I leave!

The recycling fee of the bottles is a good thing, that's the only way to make us lazy *** scandinavians carry the bottles back to the shop and not dump em on a street :p
The paying for plastic bags is... something you get used to, either carry your own teeny weeny bag or pay up biaaaatch :clap:

Tapes Halcist hands with ducktape, with 2 rolls, on each hand, then stares at him with fuzzy pink feather hand coffs, and thinking about where I put that ball gag.

The faq is coming, as always. It's a very, very large undertaking, and has been much more irritating than my conc guide ever was. I've finally gotten moved into my apartment and now have internet in my room, so it's just a matter of buying some voltage reducers and proofreading/formatting the guide for the forum.
