One thing that I don't really understand (or most people for that matter) is the effects of dual wielding on WW. I'm planning to make a barb with teleport capability. In duels where block is of no consequence and cast teleport speed would be helpful I was planning on ditching storm in favor of wizspike and dropping verdungos for arachnid mesh.

What effect would the wizspike have on my whirl? I know I would get more hits, but would the extra hits be lower in dmg? If I socketed it with um, how would my total opens wounds be effected? Would it boost % open wounds for all hits are only the extra hits granted by wizspike?

Can someone like knowledgable like Hal etc explain this or point me in the direction of an explaination.

If you want to read through this thread (http://forums.rpgforums.net/showthread.php?t=236172), there is a short & sweet definition of the effects of dual wielding.

Any active on-weapon mods only count for that weapon: %ed, OW, CB, etc. Any passive on-weapon mods always count: resists, +str etc.

An even shorter description of dual wield ww. On a single weapon ww hitting the last bp, it will be 4 frames. On dual weapons, the second weapon is ofset by 2 frames and is also a 4 frame attack. The second weapon starts hitting after the first 8 frames. You end up with an effective 2fpa after the first 8 frames.

yay, I finally understand it to the point where I can explain it kinda.

gui = graphical user interface, pronounced as gooey proper, but in my world it's always been pronounced guy... otherwise my name makes no sense

U'll hit more with a wizzy-50% more in pvp, but the extra hits will come from wizzy not from the other weapon so yes lower damage, and any off weapon mods u have like cb,ds,ow will trigger with it as well.Socekting it with um will boost ow% for wizzy alone.

The benefit of wizzy for ww is indirect, use it for faster tele, more mana & a higher chance to trigger ow,depending on how much off weapon ow u have.Using enigma, which is essential vs casters I doubt that it will be high, since duress provides 33%,u simply get 10% if using gores.

I'm going to use dracs and gores (I learned to like OW while playing sins). My primary weapon will be um'd death cleaver. I'll end up with 81% DS and 60% (35% on wiz) OW. Does second weapons IAS matter, or is it inconsequential. Perhaps I should socket wiz with a cold resist jewel. Cold sorcs barely hurt at all with enough resist stacked...

yes ias on second weapon matters, unlike frenzy.
