frenzy damage could always use a boost, so I would say might, good tactics can make holy freeze unnecessary anyways

It depends on what you need. If you've got two solid weapons that are doing plenty of damage, then you really don't have a need for Might and you should use Holy Freeze to keep monsters off of you.
But if you need the damage boost because of poor weapons, tough runs, etc, go right ahead and use Might.
Those are probably the two best Mercs available for a Frenzy Barb, so pick whichever one will help you with your weaknesses.

well....right now i use 2 baranars.....i think im doin about 2k damage.... and thats not enough....so might would be act2 offensive merc??
Might is a NIGHTMARE act 2 offensive merc. Normal and Hell ones are blessed aim.
Of course, the best possible merc would be a Might merc with a Doom poleaxe; then you get both Holy Freeze AND Might.

Eth reapers..decrep and might...much better for physical melee. 2 auras is overrated.

2k is not enough.. I'm currently using 2 lightsabers @ level 71 and I'm questing through hell. I just finished andy and I've done a couple of pit runs.. I came to hell at level 60. My max damage is just over 1k with a might merc.. I'm really happy with the damage, considering that once I get going I'm hitting so fast that most things can't even hit back.. :) I could stand to deal a little more damage, just for a little faster killing, but for the most part I attribute a little slower killing speed to my level difference and so-so AR at the moment.. but from tests on single player with the exact same equiptment that I'm using, once I hit lvl 85 and pop an Azure on, I should have no problems at all. 2K damage dosen't seem bad to me .. I'm just wondering what the speed difference is .. and are you swinging as fast as you can with the baranars?

This is only my opinion mind you. But damage is overrated and speed kills.
Bstars aren't high in the raw physical damage but have great elemental damage and are very fast. Phase Blades (azurewrath and lightsaber) are faster still and LS has ITD making it even better choices with all the speed you'll have more oppritunities to hit. (we all know this just solidifying my statement lol) Im using LS/rare CB 'shael'd' atm I'd like to either pick up another ls (better ed hopefully) or a azurewrath but they are expensive sadly.
Also thinking of replacing ik gloves/belt/boot combo atm with lavagouts (20ias and 2% chance to cast level 10 enchant) verdungo and war trav since im pvm.
As for merc, it really does depends on your play style too i mean like mentioned before.
"frenzy damage could always use a boost, so I would say might, good tactics can make holy freeze unnecessary anyways"
I dont really believe in that statement becaue everyone wants to make things alittle easier then before wether or not that have a solid grasp on the situation.
I use Normal Blessed Aim merc just because i seem to miss a lot despite how fast i am. I get I think somewhere 9k/8.2k Ar before Blessed Aim is activated.
I can't remember how high i am with it on. I'd guess over 10kish AR per wpn.
But it depends on what you want or need more to help with your survivability.

Shaftstop: Good points.. a few little things.. Verdungo's and Trav's are great .. but If I could make a suggestion, if you can afford it .. putting on a pair of Drac's is like having your barbs skeleton fused with adamantium. A frenzy barb should really try to take advantage of chance to cast items, lava gout's enchant is nice .. but a demon limb gives lvl 23 enchant.. and you can cast it whenever you want .. and it lasts for like 15 minutes or so. Drac's has a chance to cast life tap .. it goes off all the time, I mean all the time .. and it's amazing, basically when it's cast on monsters, you're invincible from them ..
Again, this stuff depends on your financial situation .. but really they're not too, too bad.. demon limb is pretty cheep, Drac's are ok, oh, and I don't blame you for wanting to get an azurewrath.. it's one of the reasons I played ladder season 1 .. I only wish now I had gotton 2 :( ..

every time anyone ever mentions merc equipment, I always have to mention andy's visage. This helm seems to be completely underrated. I always put andy's visage on my mercs once they get to lvl 83 as it just has godly stats for a merc. Since the mercs have a godly high natural resist, it virtually nullifies the only down point about it.

Nod, good points, one of the reasons I want lavagouts vs draculs although I will miss out on lifetap, is the ias/fr with the most isa and on top of using -30 swords shael'd or otherwise will let gouts proc fairly often saving a switch item atleast in my case my stash invetory constantly full or near it especially for crafting (huge ammy/ring/blood weapon addict) >< 2 full mules of Prubies... need I say more :P 2 more with jewels/ammies lol.
but I agree Draculs/war travs are a good way to go verdungo's are just too perfect imo nice vit if anything and some dr if you dont have another source (shaft/levi or even vampire gaze) for more damage I even thought perfect verdungo's and vamp gaze ber'd (most ppl probably would disagree with vamp gaze) and replace dr armor with 'Duress' Sacred Armor str is insanely high on the armor but I dont think most barbs would have a problem getting 232str at all after gear, if not maybe hellforge would be nice too heh, keeping the base def high would give for a nice E.Defense after runeword, well it all sounds good on paper anyway lol
