Hi all,

made my first Barb based on the concentrate guide and I like him so far but I have a couple questions.

I was thinking about making a one handed axe/shield build but I'm not sure. I have the Ik Maul, belt, and boots so I was considering going with the IK set, but I think that might be better suited for a WW barb.

my question is - Isn't the Ethereal Edge Axe one handed? I have one and it shows two handed. I'm pretty sure this website lists it in the one handed section also, am I losing my mind here? The damage on it is sweet, but I'll have to look in to other options if it's two handed.

Or should I maybe go with sword? I have a lightsabre lying around that could be fun. what would y'all recommend? One of the reasons I made this guy was to be able to kill D-Clone so a weapon with crushing blow would be good (of course I could always switch out weapons too)

thanks for your advice

Ethereal edge, assuming you don't have a bugged version, IS TWO HANDED.

Go one handed axe and shield. Dont use swords.

I have the Death Cleaver which seems like it's going to be the axe I'll use unless I craft up a good Blood Axe or make a decent runeword.

Any opinions on the Death Cleaver? 66% deadly strike and 40ias seem pretty good to me

If you use it right, death cleaver can do damage comparable to BoTD. Tons of people suggest it. Either a nice DC, or BoTD are the best end-game weapons for most barbs.

I appreciate the feedback Inu-

sounds like I was lucky to find the Death Cleaver. If you don't mind, I'm interested in what you mean by "use it right" when describing the uber capabilities of the DC axe.

Were you referring to a skills/stats set up? Or perhaps other related gear like getting ED jewels or more deadly strike or something. Like I said, this is my first barb and I don't want to screw him up :uhhuh:

thanks again for your input

Gore riders and highlords is how to use it right. Then you get close enough to double damage every hit.

Death Cleaver + Highlords + Gores + Mastery is overkill as the chances will not stack linearly to 100% chance for double damage. I would recommend death cleaver and highlords but put on war travs instead for the damage boost and strengh/vitality.

dont waste your time with gore riders after level 80 or so, use other boots
