I haven't seen many dual tree PvP sorcs, and I want to make one so I can kill all those resistance stackers and absorbers. My 2 Skills would be Frozen Orb and Fireball. Obviously this build would require a decently high lvl to be effective.

So far i was thinking this for skills:

20 Firebolt
20 Fireball
20 Fire Mastery
1 Prereq and 1 tele in light tree
5 Prereqs In cold tree
20 Frozen Orb

The rest of my points would go into Cold Mastery, which would give lvl 10 CM at lvl 88, which im shooting for somewhere around there. Im not sure if it would be worth it to sacrifice points in fireball syns or mastery to get a higher cold mast.

If i were to sacrifice fire tree skills, im not sure which would be the best distribution to get the maximum damage for fireball.

Equipment is also something I'm not sure about. I know I'll be trying to get 105 FCR for Fireball/Teleporting. The main equip I'm torn on is the orb. Fathom has a huge bonus to FO damage, but Hoto has more FCR. So far I'm leaning towards the vita/no block sorc. Then I can use lidless for FCR/skills.

So far I think this is what ill be using:

Helm: Harlequin Crest
Armor: Enigma or Skin Of Vipermagi
Shield: Lidless
Weapon: Unsure
Ammy: Tal's Ammy
Rings: Both SOJ
Gloves: Magefist or Frosties
Belt: Arachnids
Boots: Waterwalks

As far as charms im not sure which would be more effective, cold or fire. Well thanks for reading and feedback/help would be appreciated.

I doubt a dual tree sorc would work in PvP.

Last night dueled vs an orb sorc, me 70% cold resist and one raven, he dealed 700 orb damage and mastery was maxed, he inflicted really low damage on me. I think, if its possible, try to use 2 skills from different trees dealing with them at least 5k damage with both masteries maxed, which ones you can pick for this, dont know. One could be fireball, the other one, look in either cold or light tree, but I wouldnt use orb since cant be synergized???. Could be you can ask in the sorc forum.

Edit:Idea:
Max fireball
Max firebolt (+14% to fireball per level)
Max Blizzard
Max Cold masties (-30% first point and -7% resist per level)
5 to Fire Masteries (-20% first -5% ressit per level)
5 to Ice bolt (+5% to blizzard per level)

If you get, at least +10 to all this skills, I think you can get the mark

Wep deaths fathom(fire and cold skill damage)
mage fist (cast rate and a fire skill)
Maras ammy (resist is always good)
Changed my mind, armor you can go CoH and a 10%fcr ring (you'de still get the extra skill that you'de get from soj+viper and you'de get resist, mods from ring, ect) Or if you can a good ammy with 2 skills and 10%fcr instead of ring.

As for charms I'de probably go with 10 fires and mostally use cold as a secondary. Splitting the damage with charms just seems like it would make 2 weak elements. But if you really wanted you could like keep some cold gcs in your stash and switch em out for the really annoying absorbers. If all else fails get a merc.

Edit: As far as facets are going I think I'de probably go with cold ones (-5 cold preferably) since your fire should be looking pretty decent

Deaths fathom doesn't have +% fire dmg
Building a dual element sorc just makes u easier to absorb .c

i'm playing with a cold/fire sorc at the moment, and she works pretty well, skill distribution is
23 Firewall
23 Blizz
11 CM
9 FM
15 Ice Blast
Going to start pumping fireball or something soon, a bit late I know, but need a fire balst sort of thing, FW isn't working against people wiht loads of CR but low FR. my gear is as follows
Staff with "memory" runeword
Great Haubaurk (469 Def.) with "wealth" runeword
some other cruddy misc. gloves/boots/jewelry.
This will be subsituted for a full tals soon, just need the frigging amulet.....

These builds wouldn't work in PvP

and why not? Any build (within reason of course) could work in PvP, as long as the person using it knows how to effectively.

Well, your damage will be much lower than a single elemental build, which means you can still be easily absorbed. Not only that, your Cold Mastery is much lower which would make stacking even easier.

Which is why a non element 2nd skill hybrid is all that is viable nooblets! If your a sorc your just plain ****ed. (enchant GA? dunno still fire)

Anyway sorc hybrids blow.
