So, I recently moved all of my non-ladder items to 2 new accts to retry some character builds, but have not yet permed all of the characters. I have been logging them all on just long enough to reset the counter back to 10 days for the past two weeks. I logged on today to do it again, as I have not been on those characters since the end of last week.

All of the characters on the first acct say they will expire in 6 days, except one, that had the already expired message!!! I know for a fact that he was logged on and should have the same reset date as the others, but I was so pissed I erased him to make room for another char at some point and didn't even want to think about the items he had...

Then I logged onto my other non-ladder acct and yet another single char had the expired message, while all the rest had 3 days left. At this point I got upset and just decided to double-click the character (the choose character button was greyed out as that option is not available to an expired char)and lo-and-behold she entered the realm. I then made a game with her, and exited and her counter has reset back to 10 days!!!

I have already sent an email to Blizzard, with the understanding that even if they do reply, they will probably not do anything about it. I just wanted to see if anyone else has had a similar thing happen. Maybe the exact same thing and they also contacted Blizzard and got their char re-instated (wishful thinking...)

I have had a similar problem. Emailed Bliz but I could not seem to get my point across. As you do, I had exact dates and so on.
I've never heard of them resurecting a charactor, but good luck.

Your computer clock is off ^_^ Try updating the time for the time zone you are in, because if your computer clock is off, then the reset message will be off.

At the early days when 1.10 was just out, I once noticed that, if you only log in and stand in the notice/ channel screen without actually joining a game, even though the expiry date "appears" to be reset to be expiring in 10 days, actually it DOES NOT extend the expiry date. I noticed such thing because, I played in midnight --- Before midnight, it seemed to expire in 10 days, but after midnight (when the expiry date counter works) it just said it would expire in 4 days (following the original expiry timetable neglecting my "superficial" log-in).

So, have you really used your characters to actually JOIN a game?

Frankly, I don't know this rule still applies now (or just because it was a bug experience for me at the early days of 1.10). But hope my experience might be helpful to you.

By the way, no offence. I just wonder if its clock is off, then logically there should be a universal effect to all characters, but not restricted to one or two characters.... Of couse, I don't know the exact programme mechanism of the timing thing....

Thanks for the advice ya'll. I will wait and see what the mighty Blizz has to say about it, but for some reason (maturity...pshah) I just can't seem to get worked up about it. Can't remember what the poor guy was carrying, and as i have been focusing on ladder for a couple weeks, does it really matter? I do suggest that anyone reading this follows Alywin's lead though and log into a game for a minute or two just to be on the safe side. I will find this thread and repost when I hear back from Blizzard in case there is any info that would be good for the collective...
